This is awesome. What a nice video to wake up to this morning. Hubby got me my scan n cut to cut fabric, but now I want to make cards and other stuff. You and he are creating a monster!!!!! Craft room is huge and already bulging at the seams. Now have to find a place for card making supplies. 🤓👍

I have found a workaround for CW. Though it’s not very convenient. I take the square from the Basic forms. Then I choose the points tool. So I see 4 dots on the square. I delete points with the minus until I am left with a straight line.

Hi Ashley. Now I have great news for me. I happen to have also an Apple Pencil with the iPad Pro. And with the dotted line tool it ONLY makes straight lines! Haha, LOL. I had the solution right in the drawer.

Hi I also have the apple pencil with ipad pro, but for me i don't always get straight lines when I've tried it in the past, but i personally find using CW clunky on an ipad so thats why i don't use it.

o-------o--------o The centre circle started out as the beginning of the line, and when I pinned the end point to add the curve. the line between centre and the last circle curved upwards and out. Does that explain it better.

I’m having trouble trying to ungrounds to get rid of dashed line. Any suggestions?

To ungroup your design you need to select everything and then right click and use ungroup

My card came out with the scored line about ⅛” off center. I’m trying to clean it up. Have started anew but I cannot get the card to ungroup to shorten the scored line. Many tries. Please help. Do you think it’s in the software, a glitch? I did it yesterday and gave been following the same steps. The card is grouped but won’t ungroup so I can get to the dashed line only. Ungroup is always grayed out when I right click it😩

If you are using Scan n Cut canvas online drag your design into the middle of your page and Starway up in the top left and drag an imaginary box making sure you grab everything once you have done that you should be able to choose a group. If you are using the downloadable canvas program you can turn off all the layers except the dash line by clicking on the box on the right hand side with the eye On the layers tab

When making this card, and start to add the Matting layer lines. after left clicking the node hold shift key and move to make the line, instead of going in one direction, another line will go in the opposite direction. making the line twice as long, yet when I pin line it is correct length. Problem comes also when continuing the line for the curves, the straight part of the line begins to curve away from its original point. Hope you can follow this and help me as I am getting frustrated now.

The line going both ways usually means you are holding down you mouse on the left click and dragging. to draw a straight line all you do is hold down shift, then left click once on the mouse and let go then just move your mouse with pressing anything that should make a straight line, then you left click once to anchor it. its really not difficult.

I had made this into an svg using other software. Just wanted you all to know though that someone else made on here on RU-vid and gave the dimensions to make 3 panels standing. But be sure to use heavy cardstock if you opt for that latter card because I did it in regular and it was too weak. Save your papers and learn from my mistake! LOL

You must have used heavier card stock than I did. I think also, the three paneled one needs more support. I haven't tried the single one yet. Live and learn though, right?

thats because you are still pressing down on your mouse, i do say you have to let go of the mouse and just move it without it being pressed, the only thing you are holding is the shift key

Hi mine doesn’t look like this any longer either, I wondered if it is because with the update it is now an offline version, but harder to follow when you are new isn’t it.

@@wenzbee197 there are two versions of canvas, one you use online and the other is a downloadable version, they look different but both work the same. i have a side by side comparison video on my channel that may help, its in the download playlist as well as the canvas playlist from memory. thank you
