A beautiful traditional melody made popular by Simon and Garfunkel. Their version includes harpsichord and a clever counterpart sung by Art Garfunkel. Paul Simon plays a stunning guitar part.
This instrument and the stunning music it produces is the most underrated and under appreciated on the planet. It truly soothes the soul. Thank you, sir. May your blessings be multiplied for bringing such delight to our ears and hearts. I pray this beautiful music never dies.
This can be very fitting to an medieval roleplay or an theather or an book/animation with an medieval romantic couple, this can be awesome, great music.
I'm not abandoning the ship. I learned various forms of psychotherapy, spirituality, arts, and now I spread them to anyone who wants, receives and values them. I have talent, but it's in training. I work to grow it every day and through this I try to make us all a better world, full of peace and happiness. But I also need a lot of guidance from those who have come to master certain arts. When I receive it and I have it, I get rich, and I share the wealth gained with all those who can receive it and then share it with those who understand and value it. I still believe in this world and I do everything I know and I can restore the balance. And I'm not alone. I have brothers and sisters everywhere who do this. So the resistance is strong and growing. May the Creator help us all find our way to Him and let's all unite as we once were.
Hello Etienne, I like your kind of how you play the Zither. It always sounds so beautiful. I just started to play Zither myself - but I am far away of being as good as you are. I am sure you play since a lot of years and therefore have a lot of experience. And a lot of Zithers and those are so beautiful. I will be listening from time to time to your latest Zither-Music. Thanks for your music and greetings from Germany, Andrea

What strings do I use? There are three types of strings used: 1) Plain strings: For a full restring, use piano/music wire. You will need sizes 9 to 5. Eg: PIANO WIRE / Original Röslau piano steel wire available from Ebay. For a few replacement strings, use guitar steel strings of the same gauge as the broken one, or the string next to the broken one. You need a micrometre to measure the gauge or take the broken string to your nearest music shop and they will measure its gauge. 2) Thin wound strings: Use wound steel guitar strings. These can be purchased from your local music store or from Ebay* (Eg: SIT Phosphor Bronze Wound Acoustic Guitar Single String). You will need sizes 0.032”and 0.026” 3) Thick copper bass strings: These strings are wound with a copper wire within the length of the vibrating section only (they wouldn’t fit through the pin hole), therefore they have to be custom made. These can be ordered from a string manufacturing company such as Lenzner in Germany (www.lenzner-strings.de). When ordering, you will need to specify: 1) The pitch 2) The vibrating length 3) The length of the copper winding should be about 30mm less than the vibrating length. 4) Ask for no loop and 180mm extra at each end (you will make your own loop).
@@gienahcorvi6705 Go to Ebay Germany, look for Akkordzither, Musima Zither, Jubeltöne Zither or Salonharfe. A used one in good shape goes for around 50 to 80 €. A new one is between 250 to 500 €.
So is this kind of zither still selled on market? From my search there are only autoharps now and these zithers are vintage items. Really wanna get one.
You need to look online for a 2nd hand instrument: What you are looking for is a 5 or 6 chord (5 preferably) zither. Chords should have 4 strings each (not 7). Melody notes can be single or double (it makes no difference how you play it). The tuning pins should be reasonably shiny, not rusted. Look out for cracks in the wood. Strings should not be rusty. Avoid very old instruments. Please note that I use a different tuning to the original - if you want to play the pieces I play, you need to change the tuning which involves changing a few strings. If you need further information, please visit etiennedelavaulx.com.au Cheers. Etienne
The Akkordzither (Chord Zither / Guitar Zither) is very easy to learn. The Chords and notes are printed under the corresponding strings. There are special music sheets with dots and arrows, that you put under the strings and then play along thos dots. The instruments are also fairly easy to get cheap from ebay Germany. But beware don't buy a Mandolinenzither (Mandolin Zither). Those are the two stringed and more complicated to tune. And don't buy an Alpenzither or a Konzertzither, those are completely different instruments.
@@superhavi thanks for this info. I have a number of different vintage instruments (collecting is my hobby, learning to tune/restring and play them is my passion.) Getting the names right is an important and often difficult.
This is the tuning I use: Melody section: a0 b0 c1 d1 e1 f1 g1 a1 bflat1 b1 c2 d2 e2 f2 g2 a2 bflat2 b2 c3 d3 e3 Chords: G major D minor F major A minor C major g1 d1 b0 gbass / f1 d1 a0 dbass / f1 c1 a0 fbass / e 1 c1 a0 abass / e 1 c1 g0 cbass

This is a type of zither called a chord zither, an instrument developed by German settlers in USA in the mid - late 1800s. It was mass produced and sold door to door in many countries including Australia. The idea was to make an instrument that anybody could play, using numbers and letters. However, not everyone was able to keep the instrument in tune (62 strings) and most finished up unused. I play a 5 chord zither and also a 6 chord zither . There are also 4 chord (usually US made) and 3 or 2 chord zithers for kids. In Germany they are called Akkord zither or Guitar zither. As its name implies, the chord zither has a series of pre-tuned chords on the left hand side strummed by the left hand while the melody is played in the melody section by the right hand using a plectrum. The chord zither must not be confused with the concert zither which was made famous by the Third Man Theme. Best regards, Etienne
