People really don’t realize how crazy this is. Y’all see how they were tryna bring out a stretcher? Yeah. That would have been every one of us taken out on that stretcher. It’s only these super-human professionals who are so tough with so much fight in them who’d be able to just casually skate off like he did. Talk about badass. Holy fucking shit.
Ouch! been there. I smile when I see these, not because of the injury but I'm happy to see how great and fast they receive help. The one thing the NHL does right, so many lesser leagues still use hundred year old stretches and no doctor.
Everytime I see a shot to the face it immediately brings me back to my childhood when I was watching a game ( Flyers vs Leafs, I think) and somebody missed a shot and the stick came up and exploded the other players eyeball on live tv. Worst injury I think I’ve seen ever! Hope Vlad is alright!!
That was the injury to Brian Bedard of the Leafs. It happened on the follow through of a slapper taken by Marian Hossa who was playing for the Senators at the time. Bedard suffered a life changing injury. It's the second worst injury I've ever seen. Second only to Clint Malarchuk.
That was horrible. The worst I’ve ever seen though was when Logan Couture took a slap shot from Brent Burns straight to the mouth. Aside from losing several teeth, he broke the pallet in his mouth. Like the roof of his mouth was broken. His teeth had to be wired just to hold the remaining ones in place. He said it hurt even to breathe.
You know it’s bad when even the opposing team’s medical staff are running onto the ice to help you. God I hope he’s okay. We really need to do more for the safety of players.
The location of the Avs doctors is next to the Avs locker room. Also, the ambulance is closer to the Avs LR than the visitors LR. It's the safety of the players. Usually, both teams help with aiding the injured player.
What more should they do? If you’re gonna suggest cages… move on with that nonsense. Half the players in beer league won’t even wear them. The PWHL petitioned and won for half visors after always having to wear cages. I myself would still wear a half visor if I could afford the cost of losing anymore teeth again. You’re not convincing anyone to vote on forcing them to wear full cages/ bubbles. That would be a lockout worthy subject.
@@marie2274 That was an emotional response to a severe scenario. Most players will stop using them in time. Neckguards will not be made mandatory, because the players still vote 78% against them. Though, even then, a neck guard (especially with today’s technology) is not even in the same realm as a shield or cage.
Jets fans that is how you should react with an injured opponent player. Not chant 'Go Jets Go'. Shows that Avs fans have class. As one of the Jets players said,'You could hear a pin drop'.
