@kenclarke5966 it's not remotely. It wasn't a charge he didn't take more than a couple strides and he hit him with his shoulder Modern NHL stinks This is an embarrassing call
Is this announcer blind its a forearm elbow to the head and charging. This player better get himself under control! Not only is he blind but he’s even know what a penalty is!
The problem with this kid isn’t that he’s a goon. It’s OK to have goons. The problem is he’s not talented. He’s only there because he’s 6 “7 he has virtually no talent and his height makes it so that no one can really fight him. It’s not that a super tough or that he’s really good at fighting or hitting. It’s just his height if he was 6 foot one or 6 foot three or four he would get his butt whipped by so many people. . this is why Chara gotten so much trouble for years
If the NHL fined the coach and suspended the coach every time he let a player do this stupid crap, it wouldn't happen again. This kid would never be on the ice if I was his coach.
The difference is Ulf couldn’t fight. Rempe can. He did troll the Devils players and fans in the most recent game. Their April game will be fun to watch. Hopefully the four games on unpaid vacation will fix the bad hits.
He had primarily played rollerball in the NY State Women’s Rollerball. They revoked her/his license to play last after she left the game in a "menacing" fashion after the same game. There were several fans and players who would’ve been able to testify any one.
2min into the game. I'd sure love to start seeing the NHL just say, "ya know....this has no place in our sport, in any sport, you are no longer an NHL player." Matt Cooke, Sean Avery, Jon Scott, Reaves, maybe Marchand, Domi....just POS weasels who serve no athletic purpose. If you don't have weasels in the league, no team needs them on the bench then.
I think he was sent out there for that purpose. If the staff gave a fk about this kid, they'd be coaching him on the phychology of being a player and not just a 'goon'. As if.
@@kenfoote2598 For sure. With his height, how's he not going to hit everyone's head? 90% of the league is only as tall as his shoulder pad. The guy is insanely fast and nimble. Hopefully, they use him for those skills more.
The more highlights I see of Matt Rempe the more I feel he is not a very intelligent hockey player. Dirty hits and fighting from a guy who is big but not natural. He's going to end up with CTE and short career if he's not careful.
There seems to be no purpose other than to hurt the opponent. The task of the disciplinarian is to clean the pigs out of the games. Even though Nikita Zadorov is dishing out bombs, he respects his opponent.
Rempe never lifted his feet or his elbows. Plus he's 6'7 and the idiot Devil player was short and had his head down. So it was the Devil players fault that he didn't keep his head up. That's why Rempe didn't get suspended
@@parkerbeard6170 That's not true. As a big player you have a bigger responsibility to think before you hit things. Rempe's only target here was the head. It wasn't like the devils player suddenly just before hit got lower or anything. Rempe could've landed this hit on the shoulder and it would have been clear hit. Or Rempe could have just stopped right before him and the devils player could have run into him. But this one was not even close to being a clean hit
@@Jorma___ apparently you don't know hockey and are a biased Devils fan. Rempe didn't get suspended b/c he wasn't charging the Devils player. You're taught to finish your checks. I saw a clean hit and this discussion is over
If this kid starts being a goof and a goon like Cook, Moore, Samuelson or Avery then I have no respect for himy. He's likley heading towards an early end to his career. His Size doesn't stop fighters from going after him.
Didn't look dirty to me. Remke is already tall, he didn't leave his skates. The other guy was crouched, the puck was in the vicinity. Looks like hockey to me. We could use a guy like Remke on our team. Edit: Correcting myself. After watching this a few more times, it's pretty clear Remke was not playing the puck, he was just looking to make a hit.
Gotta be 10 games. If Morgan Reilly was five, then this is at least 8. Yes Rempe is taller but that doesn't absolve you of your responsibility to avoid head contact. This is clear vicious head contact. You just cannot make that hit ever.
You better look at the rule book kid because size is no excuse for a hit to the head. The guy so far has shown no respect for the game and has been out to injure opposing players in every game he has played.
Tempe made no attempt to play the puck. Bastion never had control of the puck. 1st contact; Interference, charging 2nd. Roughing. 2+2+2. Nowadays though they may have called Bastion for delay of game. Moral of the story: keep your head on a pivot… hockey is contact sport!
Hockey rules need to be more strict. Intentional, cheap hits must result in multiple game suspension AND the team CANNOT replace player on roster, making the team down a player for all the games suspended.
I don’t know wtf that kid was supposed to do there. He freaking hit him square. There’s no run up, don’t know wtf the commentators are talking about. Shoulder hits at the same time as head. Head on a swivel, man. Look around you.
Clean hit, unfortunate that he's just the taller guy here. Players got to learn to keep their head up these days. His lack of awareness got himself AND his teammate filled in. Embarrassing for the Devils for sure.
@@celwindinhe came straight from the bench right at him with no intent to play the puck, already had a defender on him.. easy call to make for intent to injure...
He knows how tall he is. He’s had to deal with it for probably most of his hockey career. He should know how to hit with respect to his size. This was dirty.
Now....do you need a lesson here? It was plainly a head check, shoulder makes direct contact with the head. That's a 5 min penalty all day long. So we can also look at the charge. Anymore then 3 strides is a charge. So either way he was getting a 5 plus a game. It's simple rules, they are in place for a reason. Being tall has nothing to do with it. You obviously just another uneducated hockey parent who watches their kid through rose colored glasses...always think they are the best on the ice and do nothing wrong during game play lmao lmao.
He shouldn’t have been ejected since I don’t think it was intentional but regardless of size you have to be careful about hitting their head, being big isn’t an excuse for accidentally hitting someone in the head just as accidentally tripping someone is the same as intentionally tripping someone, it’s both a penalty. You can’t make contact with someone’s head it’s a rule so these bigger players might have to play a certain way because you can’t lay body on head its that simple. Play how you will you just can’t lay body on head we can’t have people walking around with deep irreversible brain damage 😂
Ken Danyeko: "thats was uncalled for" .... also Ken Danyeko: "Scott Stevens was a tough clean player" No penalty there at all. NHL picking on the Rangers as usual. Puck was there, elbow was in, hit was to the shoulder (all confirmed by the crew)
You guys are nuts hes a big guy and the dude he hit was crouched over. If he is more upright no issue. Hockey sucks today when nobody thinks they're going to get wacked. Keep your head up
Looked clean to me, he didn't lift up , he didn't launch his body, he didn't hit him with his shoulder. Just a big man skating fast hitting someone smaller. It's called hockey. I've seen big z annihilate people with bigger hits than this and get nothing. His reputation bought him this. The NHL is pussifying the game. All these remarks about ban him he's dirty need to find another sport. Hockey is a big boy game, not a swim meet. We need more players like this to bring hockey back to what it was. Not a game where little girls skate around and do tricks .
No difference then when he hit the leaf player and knocked him out of the game , Not even a penalty, He was playing the puck with his head down , Disgusting call.
The nhl is killing the game, the game itself has already gone 50 moh on the slapshots with the sticks. Half the players, no helmets , low glass. Oh yes they hit and hit hard. Loud music and no contact. Sucks
why don`t we just turn the game into lawn tennis. It`s hockey for crying out loud ! The man is listed as 6ft 7 or 8 inches maybe he could bend over. You can clearly see his whole arm flat against his body . Bush league call.
