Everybody acts like the only reason to own a particular car is to be the fastest.....there are other reasons I chose my Challenger Scat Pack, including roomy comfort and old-school-cool styling. I don't feel the need to win street races, it's plenty fast enough for me.
I feel you bro but most of us young kids have different intentions but I’m pretty sure once they get older they’ll realize what they had was really valuable and special.
This kinda hits for me because I've never really understood the beef between different vehicles, I appreciate and love all kinds of vehicles, whether it's muscle, sports, JDM etc.. A lot of people are like my way or the high way, but in the end i'm like I appreciate them all tbh, whether one's faster or not it don't even matter, love what you got, make it your own special/unique and just keep doing you
True the mustangs will shit on any dodge but I will say the dodge has the looks and it’s a 4 door that extra weight and room is nice which is why lots of people buy the dodge is the looks clear winner when it comes to looks but not winning any races vs mustang or Camaros
It’s not about having the fastest car out their. There will always be a faster car than yours. It’s about choosing the car that’s right for you, and having fun with it
facts bro i used to always think which car is faster than this one, and this one and that one, but you’re gonna be miserable like that. like you said, buy a fun car, and HAVE FUN! period!
Lol that is a 2015 - 2017 Mustang, with lesser HP. It would be way more of a gap if 2018+ Mustang, with more HP. Trust me I had a scatpack charger a long time ago before everyone had them, this is the very reason I traded it in for a Mustang! The scat is to heavy and not fast, just quick.
@@MoneyManBran013😂😂 tbh bro not many people had scatpacks around that time 6 years ago. It had felt very luxury around that time still. But once covid passed through, everybody and they mama got them now.
Or you live in a large city where accidents are more frequent?.. this is obvious, if you live in the country rural area trust me you’ll see your money stretch and be able too save more
New school Muscle is amazing. I had a 1975 Nova with a 327 Corvette motor in it. It had a 750 dbl pumper carb so on and so on, but after all the money i put in it i was still barely breaking 365hp....😂
the camaro should’ve stayed where the camera man at, he cant even do a pull next to them lol, thats just making it harder on the mustang to break after that
@@phatpun9545 I understand what you are trying to point out except tires that spin have less traction. It is physics. My point was torque braking that long is doing the trans no favors. 👍
Lots of clueless comments. This race was won solely by reaction time. Both cars are pretty equal in acceleration. The Scat gives you room for 5 while the Mustang gives you near sports car handling. Neither is a bad choice - depends on your needs. But these types of "races" prove NOTHING. You don't even see the top end, and there are huge differences in driver ability
Speaking of clueless comments… why do you think this would change in the big half? The 5.0 is faster up and down the test sheet. Lower ETs, faster traps and more critical to your top end discussion is that a 5.0 is about a second faster 60-130. The Snack packs are barges that put up acceleration numbers which belie the 485hp figure. If you buy a 392 to race, you bought the wrong car. 4400lbs and fails to pick up any significant power even with FBO and e85. You buy a 392 to sit in a living room recliner and make loud V8 sounds while melting tires, while enjoying the modern retro styling cues. But prepare to get roasted by 5.0s and LT1s. And I don’t have a Pony in the race personally, just observing the reality. I personally prefer a German sports sedan, but I respect the 5.0 and LT1 cars knowing depending on their mods I might get humbled. Meanwhile when I see a 392 badge, I just grin!
@@thomasburns3345 The Dodge is so much heavier and still keeping up lol, I've seen dodges beat 5.0s and Camaros you clown lol. Your just a weird hater for some reason, it's just a car you freak😂😂
@@thomasburns3345 our car is so much heavier, you sound stupid AF lol ive seen chargers beat Camaros and mustangs before lol. This guy is comparing a 3300 pound car to a 4400 pound car haha!! You can tell he a sorry ass hater😂😂
You can tell one is obviously fighting through the heaviness. The 5.0 isn’t faster, it’s just quicker, if that makes sense. I’ve owned both. The 5.0 is quicker, but the charger is much much funner to drive, and more dramatic. Constantly wants to spin wheels, and break necks.
Naw I had both cars as well. No one didn't mention that is 2017 mustang, not 2018+ with more HP. The scat is quick for the low end torque, but HP fades out once your reach 100mph due to the weight.. The Mustang in reality is faster. The mustang keeps pulling every gear due to the HP kicks in at high RPMs. The powerbands between these two cars different.
I went with a Mustang because I wanted a convertible and better quality. I also prefer mid to top end power. FCA should have taken the crusty Mercedes platform and developed a convertible.
No one mentions the fact that the driver plays an important role. My buddy has a tricked camaro, I have a tricked maxima. I usually Beat him. I even told him if we switched cars I'd still kick his ass. We switched. I took 4 out of five. Needless to say he was pissed. 😂😂😂
Edit: But that weight difference is nuts. 5.0 can be anywhere from 3400-3800 and the scatty is 5450. If you take 2000 lbs of the scat ? Are the results still the same ?
Need some 555rs broski, the new 5.0 is slightly faster than the dated Scat now, but most of them budget boys running street tires. A 305 555R and youll walk away from them.
5.0 and SS are a little bit faster than the Scatpack, but Challenger Scat is my pick for the retro style and staying true to it's muscle car roots. Those cars are less than a second faster, which is irrelevant unless you're getting paid to race.
Dodge Charger scat- fun car, smiles on 4 peoples faces, spacious and luxury feeling. Dodge scat pack is slower and less agile but definitely more room for more people and Mustang gt- fun, agile, smaller interior years after 2024 have luxury interior , 2 smiles on peoples faces. Mustang is faster, and more nimble but less comfortable and spacious
The one and only thing the Scat has on the Mustang is more room. The Mustang is way more comfortable and reliable. Its also better looking and sportier.
Without the 10 speed, which is a trash transmission, buy it still has 10 gears. Without that, the 5.0s really drop off after 60-70mph without that 10 speed. The 6 speeds 1/4 is pretty weak for how quick they're to 60.
Honestly the scat pack is overpowered for that platform. The Hellcat is just ridiculous and a waste of power. Damn near impossible to get the power to the ground
@@Official_Jamo_ Not when buying new. I looked. Not worth it. Got my ‘24 GT with a supercharger from the dealer with install and dyno for $58k out the door with 800 hp
@@Official_Jamo_ I would’ve seriously thought about buying a scat or hellcat, but the cost alone just isn’t worth it. So, definitely agree there’s hype. Great cars, don’t get me wrong. Love what dodge was doing
hemis in the year 2024 still dont even have direct injection. For Christ sake at least the LT from Gm uses direct injection with stump pulling technology like pushrods. if the stang was a 6.4 liter like the hemi it would make like 600 horsepower 😂
@@phatpun9545 I say all the time how pathetic 75hp/L is! The specific output of the Hemi is embarrassing. My wife’s RAV4 literally has a higher output at 81.2hp/ Frankly, the LS3 is barely better when stock (76/L) but at least those motors mod insanely well. Then 5.0 is 100hp/L in the Dark Horse. As someone who only looks at muscle cars from a distance, I find the choice of a Scat for anything other than good noise, comfort and burning rubber perplexing. It gets blitzed stock by the other two and actually mods even worse…. Meanwhile I’m over here making 180HP/L on my sport sedan… 😬
Correct bro you can get it remember wishing and now I’ve owned 2 coyote mustangs and 2 corvettes I also realized I thought those cars were gonna be it and I would be happy but REMEMBER you can’t buy happiness. Or at least it won’t last long
I honestly don’t know which is faster I think with a tire mopar is better in 1/4 mustang is good for roll racing. I raced couple of 5.0s in my 5.7 hemi slightly modded and I put 2 cars on him and his buddy and 5th gen ss. But then it was only 1 modded stang that would always get me by 2 cars but I think he just didn’t want to tell his mods once I drop this 6.4 in with my weight reduction I’m postive a 5.0 can’t touch me unless 10 speed. Right now na I’m running 12.0 at maybe 360 rwhp so this 6.4 with cam should be mid 11s and then the supercharger
Boy you better get outta here with those lies😂 You arent running a 12.0 with a “slightly modded” 5.7. If you were FBO and had perfect air you may see 12.9. Maybe!
@@B-Killin no lies here. I would gladly run you in it with all the other 392 and 5.0 and I just turn the bottle on for gtr and hellcats zl1 etc. stock short block just 392 intake and headers on the engine. Light car and 3.92 gears looking at my time slip now 1.6 60ft 7.60 1/8th and 12.01 @114mph
@@seriouzfilmz9397 you’re not shaving off a second and a half with headers and an intake manifold on a 5.7. Thats crazy talk, sir. Also, how are we going to run them if we dont even live near each other? Im in east Texas.
It's easy enough to admit that Mustangs, Challengers n Chargers, and Camaros are all stupid fast anymore, which one is faster stock doesn't matter as much b/c they're all fast enough. why prefer one when you can love all?
