Well, it’s most likely canon that survivor brought pups to the slug tree, and there do be a scav toll, HOWEVER. Nobody cares about some random slug thing that can’t even explode
I bet you scavs have some weird ass religion where slugpups are some sacred animal that if harmed will bring the wrath of arty, the goddess of war, pain, and death.

I absolutely love how you can just see the Scavenger get more and more afraid as time goes on by how it fidgets faster and faster and its eyes start to boggle more and more. "Where am I?" "Oh jesus! Where did that thing come from?" "Another one? What is happening?" "OH GOD OH MY GOD OH GOD NO AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
I like how the lore implications really are that scavs don't touch slugpups because the last time they did the fallout from the enraged parent sent them into a dark age
@@deboraluz27 The Artificer had two childs, they tried to cross a scavenger toll in GW but one of the slugpugs took a Pearl because they are shiny, then they tried to escape but one of the childs (the one that took the pearl) couldn't catch up with their mother and was murdered by the scavengers, after that Artificer was stunned by an explosive spear from the scavs causing her to drop her remaining child into a pool full of leeches that drowned the slugpug, we know that this is what happened because of the dream sequences that you can sometimes see when you hibernate as Artificer.
Someone should make a mod where if scavs get too scared of like too many creatures or of like a red lizard or monster kelp they just straight up die from a heart attack or panic attack i think that'd be funny.
The game surely bugged out but I did have a scav seemingly drop dead when I threw a pearl to a group of three. It whizzed past it's head, the second scav caught it, and the 2nd & 3rd ones ran off while the one in front of me just...flopped on the ground. I tried to crouch to check if it was just scared, then I tried sneaking to the next screen and coming back to see if it moved but uhhh nope.

scavs have a small amount of fear/stress added to their fear meter when they see a slugcat/slugpup, and the more slugcats/slugpups there are the more afraid they will get
ah so its absolutely terrified of its situation; both being sent into a closed chamber, and slowly having slugpup after slugpup appear to essentially suffocate it or otherwise cause claustrophobia
Scavs probably dying from cuteness overload, and he wouldn’t have the will to shoot a pup- Y- y- you’re not gonna shoot a puppy are y’all sca- YEAH IN THE FACE WHY?
Do scavengers ever attack pups? I'm not about to find out the hard way but I'm wondering if Arti struck the fear of her wrath straight into their genetic code.
most will throw warning shots or use nonlethal attacks and just keep their distance. a very small minority with certain values as well as elite scavengers will shoot to kill but that's no different from how they treat players with 0 rep that only applies to *unclaimed* pups though. your pups share rep with you, once your rep gets high enough they should treat your pup right but i haven't been a dad for long enough to be certain. (I left my pup with a merchant as 60~ rep to get food for them and they were fine. and they acted friendly when we went through a toll with 100 rep) if you get a pup while you're still building rep just hold their hand and you should be fine as long as *you* don't anger the scavs.

This reminds me of how I love to use Jolly Co-Op to play as Artificer in Survivor's campaign just so I can look at cowardly scavs be frightened by my presence without getting speared

@engineergaming9965birthday parties. Especially of your younger siblings. The fear is real. Hundreds of tiny little slimy, snotty or sticky hands pulling at your arms, clothes and hair. A lot of annoying voices with a pitch that could shatter glass screaming at full volume. I hate these little monsters.
@engineergaming9965 i just stated one of the reasons. Birthday parties, school, passing by playgrounds or trying to enjoy a movie and being unlucky to have a school be in the same room as you.

My headcanon is that since after what happened with Arti and her slugpups that they have become a myth in scav culture, and slugpups are basically viewed as white elephants, and if any harm shall come to a slugpup, the red demon will come bringing death and devastation. So basically this scav is having a mental breakdown over having to be a parent of 20 and that the fate of their colony rests on them taking care of these slugpups. Fun! Not for the poor scav.

Actually if you think it well, artificer did a bad thing becaude the scavs that killed the pups was a small tribe, the chieftain doesnt have total control fo their civilization so they sometimes make crimes, so why did artificer tried to kill the chieftain, like you can see that chieftain didnt want to hurt or kill artificer, he only asked her to go away, and he onky atacked by legitimate defense , because someone tried to kill him, so the true villain of this is the scavenges from that tribe, and scavenge doesnt even hat scugs after that incident, you cann see with survivor,rivulet,gourmand,monk,saint they have normal reputation with them, so the almkst genocide was completly porpuses, so artificer is still dumb, like she really thought that the king, was the fault?
@@anthonygamer-jg3wn i think she thought that since the toll killed her kids basically bc maybe the king made the scavs create the tolls & gave the order to attack anybody who crossed whitout paying (Unless its a friend) so i think she thought too much & thought that the king is at fault for creating the tolls that killed her kids

And I don't blame her, I'd commit war crimes to defend my little sister, I can't even imagine what leghts I'd be willing to go to protect my own children. Parental instincts, and parental grief are extremely strong. She didn't even have to think about if it was the king's fault. They took the most precious people from her, she'll take the most precious person from them. Eye for an eye, tooth for tooth.

Their glorious leader, scav lord artificer is probably why, after all he kinda slaughtered probably half of all the ones we see ingame due to losing a kid at a toll

Scavengers are terrified of slug pups it’s recommended to stay away from scavengers with spears if you have one even with good rep scavengers will still try to kill the slug pup or you by mistake
