I kinda wish the animal heads were more stylized and surreal. I think it would have looked more artistic that way and less gauche. It is most certainly theatrical though.
@@wherevictoriakills Fair enough, I think I just wanted it to look less like literal taxidermy. It's growing on me though. I hope there's a celeb out there bold enough to wear one of these looks on the red carpet.
@@ayogerry1478 Yeah, it's starting to grow on me. I think I just didn't like it initially because it just looked like taxidermy but it does look pretty cool and I hope someone wears it on the red carpet.
Some humans are SO intoxicated by their assumed importance (flouting an animal head around) & their "supremacy" over the natural world 🌎 - what arrogance. We have no more "right" over this world than any other creature, we should've respect, not pollute it & wipe out species. It's insanity 😳 fueled ⛽️ by GREED fed by insecurity
At first I did not agree but when I read the designer's inspiration with the work "Dante's Hell" is the first of the three songs of the divine comedy Dante Alighieri talking about the nine circles of hell according to the work the poet is lost in a dark jungle and is assaulted by 3 beasts: a lion, a leopard and a wolf. These animals are an allegory of pride, lust and greed, three deadly sins. Aware that he is hurting himself and that he is falling into a "deep place" (basso loco) where the sun is silent (l sol tace), Dante is finally rescued by the Roman poet Virgil.
To display the head of such a magnificent animal as a fashion accessory is wrong. 👎👎🏻👎🏾👎🏿 Even though these are apparently not real animals, this is still problematic and unnecessary. Anything that promotes the commodification of animals and insinuates that their skin is something to be worn and glorified is just plain wrong. Big-game hunting is still prevalent and considering how more species are becoming threatened or extinct every year just adds to how harmful it is. These fashion houses need to stop trying to be controversial and cloaking it in a guise of ‘creativity’. You've gone too far! Looks like animal cruelty or at least insinuates it. It’s horrible! Absolutely hor rific!
It's art. All forms of art can be hyperrealistic or comical. There are many art forms like drawings, paintings, books, food, dancing, and songs that all display the strength of animal and its significance to our world. You don't get mad at vegetarians at eating imitation meat or dairy. If this was real fur you would have a point but it's not, it's merely imitation
@@bobtina6120 I know it's not real. But looks like animal cruelty or at least insinuates it! Fake or not doesn’t really send out the right message. These beautiful animals are continuously slaughtered by the wealthy elite. They has no self awareness, or they just doesnt care. They are glorifying trophy hunting. Just awful The use of the animal head feels very distasteful, it's creepy. I know Schiaparelli is known for pushing the boundaries of fashion this is in VERY bad taste in my opinion. Is irresponsible and reprehensible!
@@blancacappi8521 To be fair, I can see where your coming from. It seems to illicit two thoughts. Half of the people see animal cruelty while the other half just see it as a representation of feelings/characteristic. My first thoughts when I saw the lion was courage, bold, and leadership. I saw the panther and thought about grace, femininity, and mystique. It's about perspective and intent. I can understand your argument but I honestly don't believe the designers intention was to showcase hunting.
Such praise it is screaming appreciation for the woman and the details the strength, the shoulders , the face framing, the lion, the wolf , the tiger .the fabric choice is an accessory to who she is and the focus right her collars….absolutely love this collection
Not as impressive as his last one. I was hoping that it would be an evolution from that collection. It was like he had stepped back and moved into Victor and Rolf.
The animal themes were a bit creepy. Other than that, this was another HIT for the fashion house. Daniel Roseberry is not afraid to be creative in his designs. I loved it.
Definitely a top tier haute couture. But previous collection was way more stunning and honestly i dislike that animal heads idea it looks so fake and ugly
Stunning, a bit macabre in spots, imaginative, creative genius. Love the slim profiles. I would definitely try the tiered, sheer black gown. Loved this!
@@ewelinawegiel720 Interesting that you took my comment that way. I am an animal rights advocate and saw this as drawing attention to hunting, not "fetishizing" it, but it could be misinterpreted to mean I champion the use of animals in this way. No, I mentioned "macabre" and that I would buy the tiered gown only. Thanks for taking an interest!
@@ewelinawegiel720 OK.....as long as it's made from artificial ingredients like these. Perhaps I'll create one myself....I'm pretty handy with a glue gun! BTW, Have you ever worn an animal mask....or perhaps seen the Broadway show Lion King?? If you look at the overall theme of this collection these artistic likenesses fit right right in. With the way things are going on this planet artistic likenesses of wild animals may be all that's left in the not too distant future, so my advice is worry about that instead of a supremely exclusive runway show.
Personally, I don't care if the fake animal heads are allusions for their inner strength and shit. The result is the same, it's tasteless. Again we are parading around showing how we, humans are superior than animals, and that if we want we can wear their skin and fur around proudly. For thousands of years we have exploited the animal kingdom often to the point that we led animals to extinction. I know that sometimes it was unavoidable, we needed the leather or the fur and wool to keep us warm, however, at this age we are now, we should at least show some respect to the "dead" animals. I know it's now lebeled artistic yet how would you feel if they were going around with the skin and heads of "dead" people. Art is Art and it shouldn't be censored but then again don't be mad if people don't agree with you. Sorry for the rant, but as a cat owner that considers my cats my children, seeing that lion head really triggered me.
Ok... I'll play along... some of the outfits are nice. But, at 5:48, the lion over the shoulder, was originally worn in the 1988 Eddie Murphy movie Coming to America, by King Jaffe Joffer (played by James Earl Jones) in the barbershop scene. Sorry... it needed to be mentioned. A bit too big for a brooch pin. Grrr... Compliments to the model for keeping a straight face.
DANIEL ROSEBERRY making Couture main stream you damn! alien goddess concept marketing genius you...with major shows like Wednesday and celebs like Kardashians, Doja, Niomi and even Oliver Rousting ComeON!!! man is having a moment i am i am here for it to see how main stream can couture get WOOT WOOT!!!
This fashion show evokes strange and sometimes overwhelming emotions in me. I wouldn't be able to attend it in person. It makes me feel like laughing very inappropriately at times although there is a certain element that ties the different outfits together, but I can't put my finger on it, other than that they are unusual and very creative. Overall I find these outfits to be unpleasant, but I do feel like there is an underlying theme to them which I can't completely realize at this time, that is worth exploring. I like that a lot of thought and care was put into making these fashions. They aren't the most visually appealing in every way, but they are well made and there are elements to them that are very mesmerizing. I can imagine some of these costumes being worn in an elaborate movie.
WTF, what made them think that showing beheaded animals are ok (real or not). This is insensitive, disgusting, and downright stupid. House of Schiaparelli should be ashamed of themselves. Paris should ban them from showing again. Shame
Mysterious, fierce, elegant. Great show Schiaparelli. Loli Bahia, you're an absolute queen, beautiful beyond words can express, you're among the greatest dear queen Loli🌹
I sense Mr. Roseberry’s steam might be running low. That last look appeared tortured. Several looks, although simple and pure, seemed unimaginative and trite. Maybe fall couture will ramp it up with more polished vision.
Beyond weird! Crazy as hell! Can you see me going to the opera with the animal head dress on? Animal activists would throw red paint balloons at me, and yell at me! No thanks!
The snake was scary, however, Louie will be proud that you guys have a stuffed animal included in your masterpieces. Simple, yet dramatic, we see our purpose in all of your creativity. I can’t wait to meet you guys in person. Blessings.❤
So no Bella Hadid, that's great!! The collection is a bit wick, some god ideas but with a poor construction, the taxidermy galore wasn't necessary, but still a way way better collection than MGC madness at Dior.
Yes, though these animals may be fantastic fakes, what's to stop the unscrupulous from using the real thing? That's the part of fashion I can't abide but find this collection stunning in every other respect.
The human being can express himself artistically in a way that does not encourage any kind of violence! It could have been inspired by countless sustainable ways of making fashion... review your concepts and be aware, human life is threatened (we are the only species that knows how to reason and we are managing to cause our own esteem and that of other species as a consequence in our attitudes).
Tem gente que não entendeu nada mesmo. Desfile deslumbrante.
