Schluter has a number of videos on RU-vid which go into greater detail. Basically, any DITRA product must be covered with KERDI membrane for shower pans. The mockup at this workshop was for a linear drain with in-floor heat. The membrane serves the function of the waterproof layer for the shower pan.
