You read my mind lol I was considering School Psychology since I'm honestly really lost right now in what I want to do and this video was perfect timing. I'm deciding between Clinical, School, or I/O Psychology. Very different routes lol, but I love your channel it's very helpful :)

Thank you so much for your kind words! It’s so hard making a decision about which road to go! I would say clinical and school are pretty similar but I/O is a whole different ball game I think 😂 good luck deciding 💕💕

It helps to know I am not the only one who was undecided.

Great! Austin was in a school psychology doctoral program and then switched to clinical psych! It’s definitely possible 💜

Hey Renae. Could u talk more about ur stats to gain admission into a clinical psych PhD program ?
@RenaesCorner
@RenaesCorner 4 года назад
Hi. So I typically don’t talk about my stats to get in as a way to encourage people not to get caught up in the stats of applications. Plus I don’t ever want someone to feel like because their stats are less than mine that they don’t have a shot a grad school. Each school and professor is looking for different things from year to year. I think there are some general stats like gpa above 3.5, GRE scores above the 50th/65th percentile. Each school should publish their stats of the incoming class (and all their cohorts for the last five years) on their website.

Renae's Corner yes I know the basics for gpa and gre but I meant research experience and things of the sort

Ahhh! I see. Sorry I misunderstood! So in terms of research I didn’t have any “clinical” research experiences. I had a year of research experience in public health about Black men and then like 3 summers of research with other labs. then a year post bacc experience with research. BUT I will say it really depends on what your area of interest is in and what the mentor is looking for. Like my mentor at the time I applied was looking for someone with community based research experience, which I had. Each year it changes in terms of what the person is looking for sure.
