He is either dead or alive until one of our senses tells us that he is alive. If we open the box and he is dead or alive, that is our sight. We can use smell to determine that there is a cat in there but not wether it is dead or alive. Touch and sound can determine wether or not he is alive because we can feel him moving if he is alive and hear him meow. Therefore, there is no paradox.

Well, u miss a important fact of quantummechanics: as long as we do not look, the quantum has BOTH possible states. But at the moment we do look, it "decides" randomly for one of both. Meaning, as long as we do not look into the box, the quantum is detected and not-detected at the same time. It is just a paradox and not real, the moment the state of the quantum is important for anything (not just the human mind) it gets one random-state.

I'm pretty sure Schrödinger made up his cat in a box thing to show how ridiculous the concept of something being unknown until observed. The idea of something being alive and dead at the same time without time travel, matter coping, or cloning is completely absurd. The cat will either live or die. It isn't random enough to create a paradox.

The Schrodinger's cat theory is an experiment in perception. And individual perception is not a justified reality. Also it may just be the science talking but I find Susan insanely attractive!

Actually Schrodinger came up with the thought experiment to point out how ridiculous it is to think of macroscopic objects as being in quantum superposition. I don't think any physicist really believes it's possible to end up with a cat in such a state.

I've always thought the cat box theory to be sketchy at best. The cat is either dead or alive, not both. What conceit we must have to believe that the cat is both dead and alive until observed, as though man is as god, and only the observable world truly exists.

If u think "Hey, it is totally impossible, that the cat is alive and dead at the same time, only becouse we do not look into the box" then u already got the purpose of this experiment. It just shows that it is paradox to think, that we have to look, before the quantum "decides" which state it has and Schrödinger wanted to show, that this is paradox - he never wanted a cat that is alive and dead at the same time ^^
