So who was yhe fool who didn't tie the wagon down properly in the first place? It begs belief the lack of care taken sometimes, "it'll be fine , it's just round the corner" has seen the loss or damage of so many items. The repair was classic workmanship and beautiful to watch, well done sir.👍

This is what I love about the people of the west; no matter how busy the day is, if a guy is in a pinch. They are always glad to stop what they are doing and pitch in to get them out of a tight spot. Moreover, the guy help out is truly appreciative of the work done. Hats off to both of you gentlemen! I was always a bit nervous repairing their furniture with them looking over my shoulder so to speak but I did a good job and thanked them for choosing our company. The predicament faced in today's video called to mind a story from my heritage. My paternal grandparents were first generation Americans born of Irish immigrants who came here in the mid 1800's. One set of these great-grandparents was traveling from County Clare to the port of Limerick when a wheel of the cart hauling their luggage broke. The first leg of their journey was delayed while the wheel was repaired. When they finally arrived at the port, their ship had sailed so they took the next available. On arriving at New York, they learned the ship they were originally due to take sank with the loss of all aboard. But for a broken cart wheel, 25% of my DNA would never have made it!!

A lot of people are commenting about his talking all the time, and not tying the wagon down. Well everyone makes mistakes and you can bet it will not happen again to him. His job is cooking at cook offs and everyone wants to stand around and talk and talk. You could see the talk didn't break Dave's concentration, he knows what he doing and listening doesn't bother a true craftsman. He is so modest it seems like it embarrasses him to hear these things being said. I found Dave in the wheel turning for the water wagon build then back to the wagon build. I have watched him in 8-10 others videos and each time it shows and proves to me just the type of craftsman he is. His low music and the way he sets the camera make his videos better than most. Did anyone notice the Yeti, the best way to keep your drink cold while waiting for tire repair on the trail. Thanks for listening, Stay safe

Watching 'horse operas' since the 1950s, I will never see them the same now that I know what goes into the making of the wagons that are in films. Imagine the army of wagon builders back then and everything was done with hand tools! Dedicated craftsmanship for sure. We are so accustomed to ordering everything online through Amazon and the like that we don't stop to realize the work that went in these items in the video. Want your wagon wheels recapped with new irons? Come back in about a week or so. Back then, we said 'ok,' today we throw a hissy if not finished in an hour.
