First issue u can resolve with getting a torque converter is getting a 5/8 to 3/4 shaft adapter with the new key so you can run a standard 30 series tc. Next don't get a bicycle tank majority of them don't fit. Get a cruiser tank that uses a two bolt bracket and just tap the frame to thread the bolts right in and you got a 1.5-3gal tank. For the brakes you can get a caliper adapter and just swap out the front wheel for one with a disc brake rotor or you can replace the fork with one that has a mount and preferably suspension as well
hey! use a chain tensioner for a dirt bike on that frame! It will push up the chain from the bottom. Plus they use Square type mounts like your frame has! that is how most deal with those frames. You really should have a transmission on that thing for 79cc bikes. That would kill a bit of chain and less stress on the clutch. One last thing lol! I see you tried the whole clear coat thing with that frame lol! Only time they spot rust all over the place like that is the old spray paint clear coating LOL been there done that!. Get all that old crap off it with some gas or paint stripper. Wipe it all down in Acetone and then paint it in a part paint type clear coat! one layer and dried fully. then two layers and dry it fully and no more rusting! PS don't ever touch it after you acetone it or you will get rust spots till first coat is on and dried!
Hey bro I just found you I have not watched any recent ones starting the series from episode one but I just picked up to of these bikes complete and ready for engines I got a good deal 100 for both and they have everything suspension on front hydraulic brakes lights everything just need engines so looking at different things but but a jack shaft on it for the chain issue but you can keep it running the chain on the same side
Throttle jets often get plugged as well if gas sets to long. The passage is awful small, And varnish will plug it right up. A simple carburetor clean out usually takes care of it
Hi Jacob, get your rear sprocket trued up, also RCF Micro mini bikes makes a chain tensioner that mounts on the bottom of the Predator 79 cc. Its made to take up some slack on the primary chain where you use a jack shaft or straight run chain. The micro mini bikes are shorter than your run. You'll need to put a additional tensioner on. Governor delete has nothing to do with how it runs, it is strictly a carburetor issue. One more thing running the throttle cable through your plastic air box is not the way to go. Affordable go Karts has a throttle linkage kit for cheap. You can actually go to their RU-vid site watch their video on how to put it on and then adapt it yourself. Trust me the governor delete has nothing to do with how your engine runs, idles, You might want to forget about the torque converter route because the P79cc has a 5/8 shaft and the TC's are for 3/4 shaft. affordablegokarts.com Good luck. You can assemble the linkage pieces your self for about $5 or less, watch the video you'll see what I mean, Another option is to get a jack shaft plate that bolts to your P79 you can then run a shorter chain to the rear sprocket in it current location, you'll have to shift the engine over to the left a small bit for chain alignment. Also do you run the gas with ethanol in it, if you do try and stop. Ethanol gas will damage your small engine. It will start to break down with in a week, it then turns to a gel like substance, it attracts water and will corrode your carburetor bowl. if you let the engine sit for any length of time it will cause run, idle, and overall performance issues.
Hello, I've been following this series, and I have a pretty simple solution for the chain tensioner, keep the chain the way it is routed right now, and mount the tensioner BACKWARDS near where the brakes would've been. You need to put the tensioner wheel on backward too so you can have a decent alignment with your sprocket. You may even need to bend the tensioner a little. I can send pictures that'll explain it a little bit better, just message me. ( I have the exact same identical build)
