Very informative, Mahalo. I'm almost 73 female, very active in weedwhacking, rock clearing by hand, and running a feline sanctuary. Had noted my strength-muscle had decline, which became worrisome. Since Nov 2021, I changed my diet and limited intake on calories, sugar and salt. Major positive noted difference in my health and strength recovering. Point is, the gut health is the key for overall better health.

I tried keto strictly for two years, lowered my carb intake to a minimum just vegetables, high fat, medium protein. No sugar or starches. Lost 35 pounds and 7 inches off my waist. No longer pre-diabetic, blood pressure back to normal, acid reflux gone in less then 2 weeks and never came back. My doctor labs are all normal now, everything improved dramatically. I am at the weight and waist I was in my 20s Diabetes runs on both sides of my family. Since in a couple of months I’ll be 70 I knew I had to do something or end up sick with body parts being cut off. Well it worked it’s been 4 years and I’m low carb now. I have bread and pasta occasionally and my body is handling it as a normal person. Always checking my blood sugar after having foods I know contain carbs. Still avoid sugar and starches and all processed foods like the plague. Cook 99% of my own meals, grow vegetables and mushrooms year round. I do not watch calories and eat as much as I want. Whatever fat intake I have is used by my body as fuel and burned off just doing everyday chores. I used to exercise a lot did me no good other then make my muscle hurt. I haven’t gained or lost a pound in 2 years. And I eat more cheese then Frenchman. Fat is fuel if your body remembers what to do with it……

I became pointedly interested in research about ATP and mitochondria function problems after taking statins for twenty years, all the while increasing the doses at the same time I felt I was aging rapidly and finding difficulty walking at any distance or speed. I felt lactic acid was building up far too readily, and clearance was debilitatingly slow. I'm 76, so expected problems aging, but this degree of debilitation pointed to learning way back in college of Krebs cycle and mitochondria. I went on Pubmed, and in twenty minutes I found eight research papers describing all of these problems are frequently associated with statins in 5 to 20 % of those taking them, perhaps I was more severely affected than most, but none of my doctors ever suggested that this could be associated with drugs I was taking. Over the next two years, after going against advice and stopping the drugs, I improved every day. I now have 90% less pain levels, and can walk far more effectively again. All of this has piqued my attention for understanding metabolic problems and how there are many lifestyle changes available to improve bioenergetics. I'm all ears!

@Luke Schneider Yes, all of those, plus quercetin, Zn, liposomal C, D3 (up to 44 ng blood with 7000 IU/d winter and mid day sun in summer), low carbohydrate diet, fats, 95% OG diet, One meal/d restricted eating, organic farm work for exercise, daily hot tub jets to move large muscles around to circulate lymph well, very careful to avoid sources of lead, live in Oregon coast range so get onshore breezes reducing pollutants, I eat fatty meat, fish, veggies, avoid added sugar in anything but eat fruit, stopped drinking fruit juices though, Sleep far better but use CPAP, up to 7 hrs now from 4 to 5 while taking statins, forest bathe a lot for NIR gain, get massages, etc. I do drink morning coffee, which gets my mind zipping.. and have lots of mental projects... so far so good... far better than twenty years ago!

@Luke Schneider Thanks Luke, damned near killed myself fifteen years ago by listening to my partner saying I definitely need to drink more water. I thought, okay, yes I can see that, so in addition to taking the damned statins, I thought I'd be smart and combine more water intake plus getting it with all the good minerals and vitamins from fruit at the same time by only drinking huge amounts of juice instead. Bad mistake. All that sugar was devastating! Live and learn, hopefully faster next time. Take care!

And now, after years of people using it, studies are finding that as it improves mitochondrial fonction, it also improves cancer fonction and turns it to metastatic cancer... so, we should be careful with new molecules and wait.

Very effective ways of enhancing the mitochondria are 1) PQQ the most effective one for mitochondrial biogenesis (the built up of new mitochondria), 2) Methylene Blue, 3) Taurine, L-Carnitine and even Creatine. All of them are less costly than Urolithin and in a good combination not less effective

Dr. Perlmutter is the only physician / researcher / scientist in videos who properly pronounces apoptosis! Sounds dumb, but having worked in a mitochondrial lab, I feel just slightly uplifited. [e.g., right before and after minute 13:30]. BTY, nothing is more astounding than methylene blue. In many cases, including pain + use prior to a hard workout, cause and effect are astonishing. No downside in the range of .5 to 2mg / kilogram of body weight. Dr. Perlmutter ought to interview Dr. Francisco Gonzalez-Lima, PhD at the University of Texas, Austin. He's the top guy on methlyene blue. A brilliant guy like out good doctor here.

What other benefits we get from using methylene blue ? Is it also good for hypothyroidism or adrenal fatigue?! Greatly appreciated 🙏
@higherresolution4490
@higherresolution4490 2 года назад
@@moniryousefian8782 IF the thyroid hormones [T4, T3, T2, T1] are in good balance, and if idodine in the diet is sufficient, then yes, methylene blue will be of help to ALL tissues not functioning at their optimal level. Only mature red blood cells lack mitochondria. Hence, any condition or disease caused by insufficient energy production [ATP] in any gland, in any organ, or in any cellular organelle will benefit from methylene blue. MB corrects defects in the electron transport chain so that ATP production is normalized. However, if steriod hormones are too low, or even too high, nothing will help until you find the right doctor who can solve this problem with bioidentical hormones, or by using some other effective therapy. For me, methylene blue has been amazing for use before an intense workout in the gym. It also eliminated all my chronic pain I had for 6+ years.

I am curious to know the difference between a few mitochondrial support supplements if you are familiar with them. If you have worked in a mitochondrial lab, perhaps you would know? Two months ago, I was adversely affected by the popular fluoroquinolone antibiotic, Ciprofloxacin. If you're not familiar with it, you might Google Cipro Toxicity or FQ Toxicity or even Levaquin Tendonitis. There is a good video on Levaquin Tendonitis, which explains how mitochondria and even DNA are damaged by the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics. People who have acute reactions to this can be adversely affected for life. I am hopeful this doesn't happen to me. Anyway, I was initially taking CoQ10 with PQQ, then when it ran out, I switched to MitoQ. And now I am very interested in Urolithin A but I have no idea if these supplements all do essentially the same thing or if I should combine any of them for greater results.

@petermathews1515 10 месяцев назад
He already mentioned it in the interview - (1) Strength & Aerobic exercise (2) Caloric restriction/ Intermittent Fasting. For the specific natural alternative to the product mentioned , I would try Apple/Berries ( Pre-biotic) + Kefir/Yogurt (Probiotic) with some Pomegranate powder which is a relatively cheaper supplement. The missing factor is the specific gut microbiome which is going to vary individually.

A very balanced diet, with fiber and complex fiber. Along with appropriate supplements. In addition to a regular multi vitamin, I find L-carnitine has helped me so significantly, I did further research about mitochondrial. And decided for an additional supplement. While eating, resting and activity, all in expected routine. That this additional supplement was enough, until, further improved research is done. That and along with, occasional alkaline water, for hydration benefit. Seasonally, I take further reasonable vitamin and mineral intake, with regular hormone and sleep aid. I find all these in balance. Have allowed me to continue to improve greatly, from burnout, and problems with chronic fatigue, specifically under strain and pressures. 🙂
