How heavy should you train? How much volume do you need? Max Aita covers that and more in his discussion of the Principle of Overload, as it applies to Weightlifting.

Noticed you use similar terms that Dr. Mik uses for his hypertrophy guide such as MAV, MRV, and MEV, but where he gives specific numbers for various muscle groups, there doesn't seem to bea ny guidelines for what these numbers might b for weightlifting. Obviously it's a little harder for weightlifting, but would love to see some number ranges for these terms applied to weighlifting.

Love these videos. Would be cool to get in depth about specific programming. One of the easy things about powerlifting is that I can build volume with sets of 8+ reps. I feel like that's unrealistic for weightlifting, right? I assume that the amount of volume is not directly proportionate to powerlifting, but I hope my question was clear, lol.

The real question is...how does one find the correct intensities/volume for that person’s individual needs? Trial and error?
