Hi Karena! I have just recently found your videos and they have made my scoliosis make so much more sense to me. I have a C curve to the right (very tight muscle to the right just above my hip ,my left hip sticks out, my upper left ribs stick out slightly backwards which I am assuming is the rotation.) my xray portrays a long lumbar curve. I was just wondering which wedges I will need and where to get them? Thanks so much!
HI, cici 1996, I apologize that I am just seeing your comment. Thank you for your kind words about our videos. I wish I could tell you how to wedge for your curve but unless I work with you in person, or unless we have a consult where I can at least see your x-rays, it is imposible for me to know from verbal (or word) descriptions alone. If you find your self in California or near one of our practitioners, please come in to see us! osteopilates.com/training/find-a-scolio-pilates-instructor/
I have been told I have a c curve to the left caused by degenerative scholliosis which has been caused by vertibral fractures, I am only 51.Is there anything I can do to stop it getting worse. Will sitting for long periods make it worse?.
HI, Michael, I am sorry that your C-curve was made worse by the vertebral fractures. Sitting is, unfortunately, not healthy for any of us. They call sitting the "new smoking". I hope that you can find ways to stay active and that your back pain is improving greatly.
Can you please tell how much effective are these wedge? How much month does it take . Or we can use something different something more like against gravity wedges.
Hello, Naman, The scolio-wedges are most effective for relieving the discomfort of scoliosis. If you are looking for a change in the degree of the scoliosis curve, then that is something that generally happens when the curve is less than 25 degrees. Many studies have shown that after 25 degrees it is difficult to reduce a scoliosis curve. However, we see reduction in pain with almost all the clients we work with.
both my right hip and right shoulder is higher than the other. I always thought i had an S curve. If I asked my chiropractor does he also know these terms? Is that a characteristic of c curve.
Hi, Maxine! I Chiropractors generally use the terms S and C Curve, not 3 and 4. With the work we do, we define the curve a little bit more ( 3 and 4) to help us make decisions about wedging and 3-dimensional correction. We break the curve down into a little more detail, in other words.
