Café 1930 by Astor Piazzolla is the second movement of the suite Histoire du Tango, where the composer tells the history of tango in four chunks of music styled at thirty-year interval. Piazzolla provided program notes that expand on the individual movements:
Café 1930: This is another age of the tango. People stopped dancing it as they did in 1900, preferring instead simply to listen to it. It became more musical, and more romantic. This tango has undergone total transformation: the movements are slower, with new and often melancholy harmonies. Tango orchestra come to consist of two violins, two concertinas, a piano and a bass. The tango is sometimes sung as well.

《咖啡馆1930》为阿斯托尔·皮亚佐拉的作品《探戈的历史》组曲中的第二乐章。组曲中的四段音乐以30 年为间隔，讲述探戈音乐的历史。皮亚佐拉为第二乐章提供了以下的曲目介绍：
《咖啡馆1930》：这是探戈的另一个时代。人们不再像1900年那样跳舞，而是更喜欢聆听乐曲。音乐变得 更具音乐性，感觉更加浪漫。这样的探戈音乐经历了彻底的转变：乐章速度较慢，和声铺排上予人新鲜感 和忧沉的感觉。探戈乐团由两把小提琴、两把六角手风琴、一架钢琴和低音提琴组成，有时也会加入歌唱元素。
