Inside Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut - the WNBA season is finally here and Fever at Sun got it started. The Sun had five in double figures for their 92-71 win. The night was highlighted by Caitlin Clark's WNBA debut and she finished with 20 points to lead the Fever. They had 25 turnovers as a team, including 10 by Clark.

A'ja Wilson had 14 pts in her WNBA debut in 2018, and they lost to the same team, 101-65. The Aces didn't become champions until 2022. With so much fanfare and scrutiny on Clark (and the Fever), it's amazing how she has remained composed and focused. Give Clark and the Fever time, and they will definitely be a strong contender.

Suns had 15 turnovers Aces had 9, Mercury had 15. First games of the season can get rough for any team and the other teams have most of their prior players from last season.

The coach runs the same standard system that she did last year. If you get Clark, you have to build around her. Copy what Iowa did and run up the score. They need that west coast type offense. But I fear this coach doesn’t understand how to use Caitlin’s unique talents.

I agree whole heartily, also just let Clark dance around as she has this ability to draw fouls thus putting pressure on the defenders who will as the game wears on back off a little or will be benched by the coach because of foul trouble.

The post play has been pretty dreadful. They seem slow in the paint overall-defense collapses and the shot is missed. CC would’ve had 5 more assists if they’d just convert quicker. And they need to spread the floor more. If the offense is to feed the post it ain’t working so far… I might rather see jacked up threes with aggressive rebounding. If AB can’t score reliably then let CC launch. And man they gotta catch her quick passes! That added to her TO numbers

I feel its more because of the new team mates of CC as CC needs to operate that optimize her best attributes. They need to really help on screens for CC when the opponents are blitzing her with defense

The Fever made a mistake by not drafting Liz Kitly in the second round. Yes she is sitting this year but next season she could have provided some interior help.

Look at the first 2 preseason games... really good because they were close and most everyone played well. I see this game as "one of those games"... where everyone on the team was out of sync... this was all players. Sheet happens. Move forward and it will improve.

Fever are not good. Turnovers. Poor passing and bad decisions.

They wouldn’t have gotten two back to back number 1 picks if they weren’t the worst team in the league. That should tell you the level of talent that she is playing with.
