I was in the audience for this panel. All I kept thinking was how much of a class act Mr. Bakula is. We're so lucky to have him as part of our beloved Star Trek franchise!

There was Eru, the One, who in Arda is called Ilúvatar; and he made first the Ainur, the Holy Ones, that were the offspring of his thought, and they were with him before aught else was made. And he spoke to them, propounding to them themes of music; and they sang before him, and he was glad.

What really would like to see is Enterprise to return at least for a few shows to conclude the mission and stories. Great Captain.

Thanks for posting this (and the others.) I've never had the opportunity to catch one of these conventions. I'm struck by how fantastic a guest Scott Bakula is. I was always disappointed Enterprise had a great cast and premise stuck in a show that could never quite straighten itself out until it was too late.

Thank you soo much for posting the panels of the con. :) It is very interesting to watch. I love the thought of seeing Admiral Archer in Star Trek Discovery. :) The time frame would fit, when you see the NCC as an indicator. So possibly we see them in like 2165 or something.

Thank you for posting this one in particular! I am a huge ENT fan, I think it's amazing and great, 2nd only to TNG in my Star Trek love....but I know the rest of the trek world dislikes ENT :( It makes me happy to see Bakula get the love he deserves!

Who'd of thought "Star Trk SNOBS" would be a thing? Yet there are! Personally, as a HUMAN, Enterprise is the only one to reach out deeply to embrace humanity, warts and all!

I have recently watched the four seasons of ENT and I can sincerely say I truly truly enjoyed it. Together with TNG, this was my favourite. Could even put it at the top.... From the comments I have read, I believe it is completely underrated. Yes, the song was bad, mainly in comparison to the other Star Trek series but I admit that after a couple of seasons, I started liking it. I understand the twist they wanted to introduce. And great actor Scott Bakula - both at Quantum Leap and ENT (not following NCIS so I wouldn't know). Thanks for sharing this video!

I actually enjoyed the song more than the series. I enjoyed the first season or so. As soon as they turned it into a space soap opera is when I immediately hated it. Star trek has always been about single episodic adventures. Even deep space 9 was episodic until they got to the war and thats when it went downhill as well. I had some issues right off the bat. T'pol for one. While I thought she grew as the series went on, star trek didnt need that sexualization. Just like the later years of voyager with seven. Both ended up growing the characters beyond the sexualization. I also cant see how anyone would like how this series ended either. Those execs shoved both middle fingers up into the fans face with that entire last season. Just as stargate universes final episode was given to its fans. Look at voyagers series, they were trying to get back home for years, it was the secondary focus as they explored while on their way back, vs ent making the focus on the temporal war and having single non focused episodes.

> Star trek has always been about single episodic adventures. Not true. While the vast majority of Star Trek episodes fall under that category, Deep Space 9 produced serials a number of times (start of season 6 being my favorite). The series finale was crap, but I actually enjoyed *most* of season 4. The mirror universe episodes were brilliantly done, especially given that they had virtually no funding left to produce it.

I mentioned this in another comment section(for another video of the same convention); The "hysterical laugh" the gentleman was talking about at 6:00 was also done by Bakula in an Enterprise outtake in a scene with Jolene Blalock whom plays Archer's Executive Science Officer/First Officer, T'Pol.

I hadn't heard about this.....Hopefully it's still in the works (since your post is a year old).....I thought Enterprise got a raw deal.....I thought it was really finally finding "itself", and felt the episodes were better than ever, and then, of course, it was canceled.

In my opinion, the time travel storyline spanning several seasons was a critical misstep. You can probably count good time travel stories you've seen on one hand (Back to the future 1-3 only counts as one). They needed more episodes that showed the crew learning how to 'boldly go', like Dear Doctor or Desert Crossing.

Enterprise's main issue in my opinion was that it wasted way too much time. The Andorian/Vulcan subplot and the Suliban were the only recurring elements of the first two seasons and the rest was mostly shite filler(with some stand-outs like Shuttlepod One). In a perfect world, seasons 1 and 2 would've been condensed, then season 4 would be season 2 and after that, we'd move onto the formation of the Federation and the Earth-Romulan War with the Temporal Cold War specifically focused on these events to give that arc meaning and purpose. As it stands, I still love Enterprise(so far it's the only Star Trek show I've seen all the episodes of) and Archer was a terrific captain.

Enterprise brought me into trek as it aired on TV. Will always be my favorite iteration. My 10-year-old heart was broken when I found out it was cancelled. Just keeping my fingers crossed for an Archer or T'Pol cameo in Discovery.
@SatoshiMatrix1
@SatoshiMatrix1 8 лет назад
Let's be honest here - for the most part, Enterprise didn't start off very good. The first season wasn't TNG first season bad, but it wasn't quality Star Trek. Enterprise took a while to get going, and then was suddenly cancelled just when it hit its stride. Bakula talking about the character being nieve like a child of the dangers of space makes a lot of sense, but I think that the constant screw ups diminished the character to the point season 3's question was "how is an idiot like this going to save earth?" That being said, its totally not Bakula's fault. He did the best given the scripts and the role. I just wish the show had stronger scripts in the early going. Maybe it would have saved the show.

I remember Bakula once talking about how much more they had planned for Enterprise. A story surrounding the construction of the first starbase for example. We were nearly witnesses to the Federation forming into being - to the Birth of the Federation. Nearly. The Enterprise writers and producers started off strong, but in the end they weren't Trekkies, and so Enterprise ended without bothering to eloquently explore the nuances of the Federation's birth pains, because they were too busy trying to distance Enterprise from the Star Trek we knew, if only in theory. So. Instead of the war between Romulus and Earth which was referenced in TOS, we got a war with species we'd never even heard of before. It's like TNG: instead of intriguingly articulate, eloquent Klingon commanders like Kor - we got bland, unsophisticated Klingon commanders, entirely bereft of depth. No one remembers the names of any of TNG's Klingon commanders, because they weren't very memorable. The Klingon's were reimagined by TNG's writers, but those writers turned out not to be very imaginative. In Enterprise, the best episodes were those which concentrated on the species and cultures which were already known, tested, and loved. The aliens we loved the best in Enterprise were of those species. Subcommander T'Pol of Vulcan. Commander Shran of Andoria. But the writers of Enterprise wanted to do something else. A "Temporal Cold War." A "Xindi War." They lacked vision, and now the Federation lacks a beginning. Enterprise needed a poet to write the Klingons, and charismatic stage actors to play their roles. Enterprise needed the Romulans in more than a single episode, and they needed to be shocking and enigmatic, not less interesting than ordinance disposal. They needed to do so much, but in the end they did so little. What a wasted opportunity.
@chrisThurt4269
@chrisThurt4269 7 лет назад
Unfortunately, TOS timeline and Enterprise Timeline seem to differ in several ways. Many Trekkies/Trekkers feel that Enterprise shouldn't be considered Cannon. So this may be an entirely different timeline, in which case the worst screw up was when the writers made the entire series a holographic simulation which Riker was exploring.
@JohnNavarro271
@JohnNavarro271 7 лет назад
Chris Hurt The 24th century version of "it was just a dream." Personally I think this was an excellent decision. "History is written by the victors" and tends not to cast the winners in a negative light. There was a lot of very questionable activity which occurred on Enterprise, like the genocide of an entire species because Archer and Flox "didn't want to play god." As extremely questionable as that was, the hologram twist creates an interesting circumstance where that illogical conclusion might be "revisionist." Either, something much more sinister took place there, or much less.

I think the insectoid fire fight that the enterprise had with all of those new creatures created by no boundaries was Hot. When that weapon destroyed a chunk of Florida I was hooked man that was a fire fight with those aliens to rival a star wars battle my eyes was glued to those episodes
