@@mekongdelta1956 Thanks fam. My pops actually passed away this year, so I got emotional watching this vid. That’s the reason for the comment. Bless you in your life and all you do.
@tamitribbiani7907 maybe. I don't know enough about the family dynamic. But somehow i don't see Clint being a bad father or not being a positive inflluence on him.Who knows.
I met Clint Eastwood in London forty odd years ago when I was an 18 year old soldier on leave. I asked for his autograph and he said sure…but I didn’t have anything for him to sign. He actually took a £1 note from his wallet, signed it and said, “have a beer on me too”……..a great man.
alive and well? there's always illnesses you deal with at that age, it's just not made public. Why would they make their health problems public? they don't. TMZ and media outlet rats who camp out at hospitals do.
When I was13 my dad and I were in a SF hotel. The elevator door opened and we got on and Clint was the only passenger. My dad looked, sounded and had the same disposition as Clint. They both looked at each other and kind of gave a nod like it was just two guys, no big deal. I Was awestruck and asked him why he didn't get an autograph. He just looked at me and said, that's not how a man treats another man, I got all I needed. Different time, different men.
That's so cool. When I was born, Clint Eastwood was actually in the delivery room. He walked in and said that I had the largest penis of any baby he'd ever seen in his life, and that I would definitely go on to do great things because of that. He then gave my parents a check for $10 million.
Clint Eastwood has been around 70 years in the industry and has been an icon for 60 of them. Still making films in his 90s. We don't deserve a Hollywood legend as cool as him.
I grew up watching Clint Eastwood movies, and i consider him not just a Hollywood legend, but an American treasure ! Its really cool Scott looks like his Dad, and respects him as a Dad, and as an actor , and an all around cool dude :)
Awesome Director. I loved when he remade Star Wars. And the Olive Garden commercials. But seriously, A Perfect World was really good and they just got better.
As a young man I look up to people like Clint Eastwood and watching his movies is amazing. It’s a piece of history and having him still holds a piece of the past to the current day.
Clint Eastwood has got to be one of the best actors in the business. As of now he is 93. Still wants to direct and produce. God is with him giving him strength and wisdom even now. Scott seems like a down to earth person. Love the fact that he praises his father.
@@peteloomis8456 not to mention most of these.other actors turned producer directors usually require big budgets to make good movies. Clint will take a budget of like $60 million and make hundreds of millions off it
Clint is an amazing actor; his presence on screen like no others. Unforgiven is one of the best movies ever and the work of a genius. No wonder his son is proud.
I love Clint Eastwood. Such an effortlessly cool guy. Grew up watching his westerns. By far the best cowboy of them all. I recently saw him in a 2022 movie. Was really shocked & saddened by how frail he has become. Didnt seem that long ago he was in Gran Torino(turns out it was quite a long time ago) and he was still quite big and tough looking in that. I didnt actually realise till I saw that recent movie that he is in his 90s now. The fact he is still even making movies(& as a lead role) is superhuman in itself. He is a total legend. A World with Clint Eastwood in it is a much, much, cooler World.
Well Clint could humble most men comparatively of course his own son too. Scott never endured plane crashes and shark swimming etc. Clint starred in birdman of Alcatraz but to actually swim 2 miles off the shores of San Fransisco like that his real life is more badass than his movies. Scott is in a modern era too we don't have Frank Sinatra anymore he will never live up to his Father I hope no one expects him too.
Clint Eastwood is the man, I feel like Scott probably knows he’ll never be able to live up to his Dads life and career but seems fine with it and respects his father for that instead of resenting him like a lot of people would, very healthy attitude.
I don’t know if it’s about living up to him. I think it’s more about carrying on his legacy, that’s the awesome thing about the bond between a kid and parent. Scott will immortalize Clint because Scott is Clints legacy Scott is a version of Clint that will continue to live on and pass it on to someone else. Ain’t that cool 😎
My family met Clint Eastwood when we were cast as extras in his movie 'Bronco Billy' filmed in Idaho. He was the coolest guy ever, even off camera. My parents sat next to Clint in the movie theater off-set and he was incredibly gracious and charming! I was 8 years old and will always remember him for those experiences.
My mom would tell me stories about Clint Eastwood. My mom use to sell tacos and burritos in Carmel-Monterey California. She would say he was such a nice and humble guy the he would come and buy burritos and seat on the sidewalk to eat with his kids. Still have some pictures with him. One time I saw him in seaside at the dmv and I show him a picture of my mom and he was Carmen such a nice woman.
Amazing I was in that same movie 🎥 in Meridian, Idaho! My memory of being on that set taking box lunches in the raceway stands and getting some great photos 📷 . Scatman Caruthers and Clint Eastwood acting Riding that Painted 🐴horse and shooting that Wild West show 🎪 tent scenes today . Meeting all the great actors from his lifelong crewmembers! 🎬Best Memory of meeting Clint Eastwood !
His dad. Is a Hollywood icon. And man when Scott smiles, he looks just like his dad. Like the same wrinkles near his eyes that show up only when he smiles.
I'm a 67 year old American man in Iowa. My parents are 92 and still live at home. They were born in 1929. Fun to realize that they are of the same generation as Clint. Good young man.
I don't know aye I just wanna get paid King of these streets I got stacks up in here mate It's hard out here for real but I gotta get paid Hey guys I'm a struggling artist trying to make it on these streets 💯 got two kids and a baby g on tha way! It's a hard world out here but with your support I keep my chin up everyday! Let everyone know you heard about Kap'n Kronic the super sonic dun tha crime dun tha time but these days I'm doin just fine BEIN ME AND GETTIN MINE JUST LIVIN MY LIFE YEAH
I hope things are in place to protect his Legend. Hopefully his family don’t start selling everything and anything that he’s done. One of the greatest American Legends of all time. Such a huge fan of Clint Eastwood.
Clint was my dads fave. As a child I laughed and wasn't a fan. Now I'm old I love Clint Eastwood is my faverate guy. All his work all his passion for his causes and what he supports. Clint give millions to help others.
Scott seems like a good man. The fact he acknowledges and realizes the impact his dad has made is awesome. Appreciating the access he has and what he can learn from his dad.
I know exactly how this man feels. My dad is 80. I spend as much time as i can with him. My father built the house we live in. He survived a war. He was a merchant marine and his ship broke down in the bermuda triangle. I have 2 pairs of jeans he washed in those waters. The second night he said all of a sudden a bunch of flying fish just started jumping on deck. It was a good thing because it kept them fed over the next week they were waiting for help. Respect your elders. Learn everything you can from them.
Mr Scott Eeastwood I love you father and admire him endlessly. He is such a treasure, and honestly I am also afraid of the time when he will be gone. I will cry like a baby. ❤
This is a dude who absolutely loves his father. Just like I do. My dad wasn't all that popular (like Clint), but he is and always will be my everything. I became him... so I'm told. I'm proud of that.
That's because he's son of a conservative, not some smug liberal following neo liberal ideas because they're trendy in California a state which btw has 4th lowest average IQ out of all states.
It's because his dad cared. Most celebrities act fake, and fakeit2makeit. He doesn't need to do that, he lucked out and his dad taught him the basics of critical thinking. Most NEVER learn critical thinking skills, even 50 year old men out of prison who stick with the gang bandwagon mentality.
An example of the potential in each and every man, from the perspective of a good son. I could listen to stories about Clint all day, such an amazing role model.
"In The Line Of Fire" one of my most favorites of his father's films. There's so many absolute bests. I really can't imagine too many others that are big names that would have done well in most of Clint's movies. He has a special place in our history.
Lost my dad a little over a year ago and the “sit with him and absorb has much as I can from him” hit me like a fucking brick. Did the exact same thing with my dad, especially in the last year I had with him because he was terminal. My dad was also always a big Clint Eastwood fan. Clints son is so fucking solid. God bless.
I lost my Dad nine years ago. I followed in his footsteps finally in the same profession. There is not a day that goes by, that I want to call him and ask something still!! Scott Eastwood will be a very good western star like his Dad!!
I was incredibly close to my grandad. I loved him with my whole soul. I absorbed EVERYTHING he said. God, I miss him so much. He’s been gone for 23 years and I still think about him every day.
I lost my dad six years ago and he was also a big Clint fan so I feel what you're saying completely. If only I could have one more conversation with my dad, especially when i'm struggling with something
Indeed. In my rewrite of the video game Skylanders Imaginators, he would play the Teacher of Portal Master Eon, Nattybumpo, an actual character from skylander lore
Eastwood, Brenner, Bronson and countless others from that era are LEGENDS and yes we understand they’re all human but you have to also understand the happiness brought to millions via the artistic endeavors of these legends!
I love that Scott really appreciates who his Dad is and isn’t trying to keep the conversation off his Dad, like most children of famous people that are trying to make their own way. He’s a real Gem and loved this part of the podcast!
Agreed. The brilliant actor Jared Harris, son of legendary Richard Harris of Unforgiven fame, is also very humble and down to earth and not above telling great stories about his late father, many of which are quite hilarious.
I agree but to a point.. cause the poor guy must feel like what's the point of finding my own way he's ALWAYS overshadowed by his dad and how great he was. That has got to get annoying at times, but there are obviously benefits to living in his shadow as well!
Didn't realize Clint Eastwood was 92, A person I looked up to since I was like 10... Watching the good the bad and the ugly with my father, the unforgiven, among dozens! of movies I watched from him, best outside influence I ever had. God bless him and his family
There is no actor in my time that has had a more positive impact on my life. Clint is literally an icon. Some of my best memories of my father are watching hours and hours of Clint Eastwood movies on Saturday afternoon.
Scott Eastwood always strikes me as a very genuine guy. Like, he never complains about growing up with a famous dad even though it couldn't have been that easy, he always does his own things but he's never a prick if someone asks about Clint, and he doesn't try to throw his weight around. Fucking kudos to Scott, i don't think i would've been that humble if i would be in his shoes.
My dad told me the story of how he met Clint, my dad was walking down a street in London, a limo pulled up and Clint stepped out, my father was shocked how tall Clint was, I think he talked to him, my dad just turned 70, it's insane that Clint I still alive and well, one of the last western legands.
Keeping promises, being there even when they’re mad at you, guiding them but also letting them fall and have them help themselves , all that makes a great dad
Got to meet Clint back in 05 w my grandpa. Took time out of his day to stop and take a photo w me and shake my grandfathers hand. A true testament to the American dream, we have always and will always love Mr. Eastwood! Still kickin ass and takin names TO THIS DAY BABY
Clint Eastwood had such an amazing stage presence! He had the BEST kne liners in all of his movies!! Do you feel lucky punk?!", " there is nothing like a good peice of hickory" " when you hang a man, you LOOK at him" . His westerns were great!!
How many generations watched your Dad in movies? My great grandparents, grandparents, parents, myself, and the generation that follows me. That's amazing!
On one hand I'm always interested in hearing more about Clint Eastwood, but on the other hand I gotta say I feel for Scott. He's 35 now, and nearly every single interview he does still turns into people asking about his dad. It has to feel like a curse just as much as it feels like a blessing to have that kind of father. He handles it admirably though.
Depends on Scott's mentality so just think about this... Let's say Scott has a very small ego and knows he won't be more famous or achieve as much success and he is fine with that and is happy doing his own thing but is so proud and happy to share his dad's stories and past etc. If he sees his dad as a hero then he won't care about his own ego regardless.
Yea, he's like one of those guys who is universally admired and respected like MJ, Tiger Woods only a handful. He seems proud. He seems like he's accepted it pretty well
His dad has lived a long and successful life. He's nearly 100, Scott is 35. Scott has plenty of time to make a bigger name for himself. Maybe it'll be something other than straight up acting, look at how his dad has branched out.
Clint Eastwood is phenomenol. A LEGEND without question. Many great actors back then in that generation. Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Gene Hackman, Lee Marvin, Burt Reynolds, etc.
He is what’s left of the real men. A mans, man. Real and down to earth. I will cry when he goes to heaven, may be the last time I cry for a star. His star is bright.
I can sit here all day and listen to his son and the stories. All the best to a legend and his family, such a charismatic gem. I don't think we will see another like him on screen again.
@@ChaOmI100 Ive never seen one and then so many shaven chimps until I started watching rogan, I'm wondering if jamie just preps the show the a "shaven chimps" folder ready to go.
My dad was 65 when I was born. They thought he was shooting blanks and BuddaBing here I am. When he married my mom, he was 50 and she was 22 (way to go Dad!). He died at 87, when I was 22. My mom never remarried, but years later, while having coffee with her at our family home, I asked, “So mom, what was it that attracted you to such an older man?” She said, “Well, as you know, your dad was a real charmer. That big Latvian personality, the intriguing accent, quick with a smile and a laugh and so on. You know I met him as a fresh, just out of school RN, when he was in the hospital for a hernia operation. I was the prep nurse for his operation and the truth is, I got a good look at the equipment and decided I’d like to hang on to that.” 😳 Too much info mom!!! LOL cheers
Story had me ABSOLUTELY inspired and FULL of hope.... ...until..... "the look at the equipment" part. Cause I don't have much shit going on down there! God damn it! LOL! 🤣🤣🤣
This is beautiful... Scott obviously adores his dad... but I love the way he has his Dad's crow wrinkles at the side of his eyes when he squints & laughs... much love!!
Clint: "Whenever I get to liken somebody, they ain't around long!" Chief Dan: "I noticed when you get to disliken somebody, they ain't around long either!"
One of my favourite movies is “In The Line Of Fire” Just shows how Clint Eastwood was able to make a great movie while also being self aware about himself getting too old for it, while also providing that he wasn’t too old
It is bitter sweet to have a great dad who (In the utmost respect) is approaching an age that every son or daughter or anyone dreads of him passing. The beautiful thing is that there are so many GREAT films that you can cue up and see your dad everyday in remembrance. I have many many many videos of my dad in his 60's, 70's and 80's, and I will tell you it is a blessing to our whole family that those videos exist.
Yes, but please remember We are moving into a time where people can live way beyond 100 or even more...We don't know what will become. Unless you want to stay behind.
@@TheTruthKiwi if you have the cash there are methods. For regular construction guys like me, my body is shit in my 50s. Dont know if I would want to be so incapacitated. Unless I hit the lottery. 😁. Was young with small tvs with antennaes. No cable. If a Clint movie came on you made sure you were home to catch it.
@@bryanpinto4051 Yeah, I fix computers and have a lot of elderly clients. A few of the women are very active in their 90's but unfortunately males seem to hit a wall in their late 80's and even if they were previously fit as a fiddle old age really kicks in. Such is life I guess
