@@glenholmgren1218 i actually think Wilson tried to avoid hitting him because he saw Mayfield didn't have the puck, but you can only see that when you watch it slower than real speed. I do think he initially wanted to hit him. No matter what, Mayfield was trying to protect himself. And if Wilson didn't want to hit him initially, he wouldn't easily mad it around instead of trying to move last second.

I'm here after watching the clip of Tom wilson trying to injure 2 rangers players last night. I love this. I wish that there was enough footage to make a 10 minute video of players breaking their sticks across Wilson's worthless head and neck.

He was going to the wall past Mayfield as most would have thought thats where the puck would end up. Instead he get cross-checked up high right in front of the ref. Those refs need to be sidelined because later they then proceed to miss another call right in front of them which was boarding. So the Caps got screwed twice.

As an islanders fan I can admit he was trying to get around mayfield to the puck, but I don’t blame mayfield because it's not out of character for Wilson to just try and deliver a late hit like that. He just reacted because Wilson is naturally a dickhead
@@caseyng4881 2021 should be the year hockey fans come to grips with the human element to refereeing. If you're a prick to the referees, you're going to tossed from the faceoff dot more often, you're not going to draw penalties as often. They don't call everything, and they are stricter with players who have a reputation. Mat Barzal for instance is leading the Islanders in PIMs. Not because he's a dirty player, but because he's a prick to the referees and a very visible player on the ice. He doesn't understand the politics of being a ref and it costs his team almost every game. Some nights he's in the box twice on things that say Josh Bailey wouldn't get called for because he shuts his mouth. Why do we universally accept that playoff hockey is more lenient with calls because the intensity is up? Because referees want to keep the game going and entertaining for fans rather than call every single infraction. They don't call the letter of the law, they call the spirit of it. Referees have to keep the game interesting.

As a Caps fan the crosscheck was to the left shoulder which caused the stick to break and the upper part went into Wilson’s neck. It s a crosscheck which should ve been called but not even crosschecked in face or colllarbone.
