Scottie Pippen - 30/10/6 vs. Bullets, 1995 season

3-10-95: Along with the '94 and '96 seasons, 1995 was a great individual year for Scottie. Up until late March, or just before MJ's return, I believed Pip should've been DPOY over Dikembe Mutombo. That's how good he was defensively (his all-around game was no slouch either).
SP finishes with 30/10/6 on 70% shooting here; Bulls win.

Pip with the dunking clinic in this game, reminds me of Dr. J. 93-94 and 94-95 seasons Pip was a complete beast individualy.

Scottie was so smooth...played with so much grace

yea. and he completely merged with the bull system. even as a point forward, you don't see him hogging the ball as much as you know that guy who's supposed to "be able to play all 5 positions" :) it is such a pleasure to watch, so much flow and rhythm. in terms of dribbling skills and creating his own shots the prime pippen might be a bit lacking vs the prime grant hill and prime penny, but anything else prime pip was on par or superior than both guys. personally i think his physical attributes were greater than both penny's and hill's, and possibly jordan's. his crazy wingspan made him almost equally disruptive on defense as the prime prime jordan. i laughed hard when i saw people today ( even pip himself) compare antetokounmpo to pippen. while not as quick as the young and prime jordan, pippen lateral speed was far better than antetokounmpo. pippen's perimeter lockdown defense is possibly one of the best we have seen in the history in the nba, along with jordan's.

@@popeyeisgood truly agree one of the wonders of the world is how Pippen never got a DPOY in his whole career. Do you remember the way the fans where cheering when he was put on Magic in 91 finals? How many times do you see people cheer on a full court press? The way he took charges, intercepted passes, that almost always led to points on the other end. It goes on and on. He made watching defense so interesting. His glide like layups and finger rolls are one of the best to watch ever also

yea. he just fitted so well with jordan and the bulls. you can't say the same thing with a lot of 2nd best players in other team. he was the reason why jordan was able to claim 3 more scoring titles from 96-98. he simply took over all the heavy duty defensive load from jordan and let him focus on scoring, not to mention pip's supreme court vision as a point forward. and yes, he was so graceful to watch. aside from jordan, pippen was the one made everything looked so easy. it is kind of insane to think about a team that has two history best perimeter defenders playing side by side. we are talking about top tier agile defensive wing players that were at least a few notches if not more than the so called defensive specialists like ron artest, bruce bowen, dramond green, or shane battier ( i don't include leonard because i think he is better than this bunch but still not quite up there with pip and mj). and then you have rodman joining which makes it is even crazier to imagine. anyone think the golden states today can perform the same against that bulls must not have seen what kind of defense they used to play.

1995 was the year he should have won, dwisdoms. I've watched both Chicago 3-peats , and in 1995, Scottie was never better on that end. He had the SECOND most votes btw (the other 3 players behind him: Hakeem/D.Robinson/Rodman). There's only a few perimeter players in HISTORY that could impact games defensively like a bigman - Pip was one of them.

@@popeyeisgood they used to call them the dobermans, which aptly describes their fitness and skill level on defense. Those two were deadly, two of the best on not just the D but also converting on the other end. It was a beautiful thing to watch Pip steal the ball from behind a player who thought he had him beat of the dribble then run ahead and have a teammate deliver him d ball for an easy dunk.

After this game Chris Webber was quoted saying about Scottie "He's the best player in the league. It's that simple". Great upload.

And yet do you hear how Chris Webber talks about Pip now that he's on Open Court with Isaiah Thomas and Shaq? That brown-noser straight up disrespects Pip on that show and just agrees with that idiot Isaiah whenever he goes on a rant about Scottie.

@@sergiosantoscunha5925 lol Chris Webber was never a superstar. If anything he's overrated. I always liked his all around game, but he should never have been allowed to chuck up as many shots as he did. He had basically one move in the post which was an ugly little hook shot. Other than that he would get a lot of easy shit at the rim or take that terrible little jump shot. When he averaged that career high 27ppg he was chucking up 23 shots to get it. That's not good at all.

Pip was unbelievable this season. A few players noted that he was the best player in the league back then. This shows it nicely. Complete game.

The best description of the triangle offense was displayed when Michael Jordan was not on the court.

I had to come here because I under estimated Scottie offensively. We all know how great the defense is but this is a reminder that he could put up big numbers when necessary.

Smooth Pippen on the both sides and smooth commentary afterwards... Nice times for the game. I really wanted that he would win the in 94 ring that would be awesome and maybe I wouldn’t hear this bullshit that he is overrated. He is not.. he is one of the best and for me the best one to watch

The bulls struggled during the first 65 games jordan was retired they were only 34/31 but they were still in the sixth seed and the reason they were up and down was because they lost Scott Williams and horace Grant plus ron Harper their bog time free agent singing because of his knees was on longer an offensive player he only he success playing along side Jordan.
