The chair is not a reality bender. Not all anomalies are reality benders. The chair was just an anomalous object.

I listened to both bits of "how do you kill it" and I flashed back to the first Hunter the parenting audio log where BIG D was talking about mages.

The chair was actually against their protocols, Old Man. There's actually a tale where the survivors got a 9 mil retirement for fucking up so bad, as the chairs were supposed to be turned over to the Foundation for containment, not destroyed. The chairs weren't reality benders, just problem items that were difficult to contain. The Woodchipper Incident is sort of like the GOC's 'Friendly Neighborhood Keter' Incident, and someone needs to recommend that to you before the react channel closes so you properly understand just how dirt the Foundation can be. The GOC is in the business of putting down problems. The Inquisition would Approve of their thoroughness, especially given how many threat vectors there are. You'll see that there are lots of things that need some proper putting down, and even as thorough as the GOC is, they're often still not enough. Like I've said on far too many occasions, the Foundation is far too much like a Cult Mechanicus Knowledge Quest expedition that thinks it's found an STC, only to find out that they actually stumbled across a damn Halo Device or a Necron Throneworld. They need to learn when to stop trying to contain the shiny and start putting the shiny down. On the other mechadendrite, they also need to learn when to start using the shiny productively, and the the GOC does occasionally need to learn when to NOT put the shiny down because it's not heretical to human survival. Correct. You should never like where things are going in the SCP universe. Because it's one of the few universes that beats out 40k in the suck department. There are very few nice things you get to have, and those always come at a price. I'm guessing... Alice proceeds to fully manifest Bob, and then start a ZK reality restructuring that the GOC has to stop by putting her down. Reality benders are like psykers. Unless they are firmly under control, the correct answer is 'your brain is asplode' because it always gets so, so much worse. There's a reason the GOC calls them 'Child Gods' Oh thank Tickle Monster, she managed to get emotional closure. It could have gone so much worse. Ah, good. You're finally adjusting to the horror baseline of the Foundation. Shit is fucked, we're all fucked, the only thing that matters is how much can we unfuck things before we die. The room is alive, it's gonna eat you and YES, THERE IS AN SCP FOR THIS! (no, really, there actually is a 'hungry room SCP.' It's horrifying. This, this is why the GOC is quite so... Inquisitiony. This is WHY their procedure is 'kill Type Greens without regret, pity, or chance to react'. Because shit is gonna get fucked in the 'Welcome to Slaanesh's Pleasure Corner in the Eye of FUCKING TERROR' sense real fast when reality benders show up in the SCP universe.

You don't have to keep bringing up the chair, just let it go man. I'll say it again, the chair incident was because the agent handling it termination broke protocol. They weren't supposed to use the wood chipper. The original SCP file for the chair is also from the early day of the wiki, so it is very dated by now. Every time a story with the GOC is involved, you automatically mention the chair and cloud your view on them. *Especially when they aren't even been written by the same author.* The common point of writing the GOC is that they prefer to use lethal force and are more militant than the Foundation, but as for how they act really depend on the writer. This of course coupled with the fact most of the lore are from Foundation perspective, which already have a bias against them.

I am so glad you started doing SCP content as well, you seem to have the right geekiness and sense of humor to appreciate it. If you're up for it, you should consider devoting a few weeks of SCP reactions to a given canon or hub, like Sarkicism or the Antimemetics Division, an subgroup of related SCPs and tales.

GOC eliminates all anomalies, they do not contain them. It could be a 5 year old who could spawn lollipops, and nothing else. They'd shoot it on sight.

The chair situation was punished. The guys who did it were punished for their fuck up, and that they made a safe anomaly. Dangerous They, currently at least, prefer to ignore safe anomalies. And go after what can actually hurt people It also helps that they’re a UN origination. So their leadership could change if the Secretary General gets tired of their BS

The chair does not classify as a "reality bender". It is only an anomalous item/object. A reality bender is a person.

Reality Benders make me think of Alpha-class Psykers, because... fuck. Part of the reason they are rare is because they have this habit of becoming mind breaking tyrants that can usually manipulate nature itself, and so their uprisings often get slapped by the hands of either the Inquisition, the Astartes or both.

In your free time you should look at the actual article. It's one of my top three favorites because it has SECRETS that you can find. For instance, if you highlight the redacted portions then hidden messages will light up. If you hover your mouse over certain parts then it'll reveal hidden sections of the document.

Best way to train new Lambda 5 recruits? Give em to Clef to make them trip balls, be shit scared more than they've ever been in their entire lives and barf after. Nothing will stick in their memory like that experience will. Oh, then give em a breather then onto weapons and tactics training.

Honestly I think I would try to help people if I discovered I was a Reality Warper. As tempting as it would be to just go full Code Geass and "make" the world better I would remember one of my favorite quotes "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings"-optimus prime.

I think I mentioned it in another comment but I forgot the scp number at the time about the chair getting a happy ending along with almost every out scp. I looked it up again and it's Scp 6001 Avalon. The Exploring Series did a video on it.
