SCP-001 is an anomaly also known as The Foundation.
SCP 001 is an Altered High School Building (Confirmed Anomaly 3)
Under no circumstances should any personnel attempt to enter SCP001 or communicate with the persons inhabiting it. However, any person known to have been inside CA3 at any point must be detained and interrogated.
A direct military assault on CA3 has been deemed unfeasible at this point, due to the unknown capabilities of the entity or entities by which it is controlled.
The Unusual Incidents Unit was alerted to CA3’s existence on September 7, 1954, when students attending the High School reported that the interior of the building was vastly different than it had been at any point in the past.
Upon discovery, CA3 exhibited several unusual, if not inherently paranormal, traits.

Yes that is also why the Hellboy mythos used it. It is true tho. Himmler was a BIG TIME occultist. The SS was set up with a occult/pagan backstory...hell the "Aryans" were flipping mythical..... Goebbels actually poured through prophecies of Nostradamus and others to "prove" that the Nazis would win. right? The SCP foundation existed at least since the early 1900s. I'm pretty sure the origin story of the chaos insurgency was that a rebellion happened in the SCP foundation sometime in the 40s, and that the rebels had been in the foundation for 20 years prior to that. I guess this could be an alternate timeline/universe type of situation. Or the perception of the foundation's history has been distorted in some way due to an SCP. But then that just goes down the lame path of allowing everything to be canon basically

@@ThrobbiusMaximus Officially, there is no “true” canon for the SCP universe. Its pretty much always been a free-for-all collab between dozens (now hundreds) of amateur writers. While I also would have preferred a proper canon, if you’ve ever tried to keep a canon straight between even as few as ten independent writers when creativity strikes them, you probably understand why the site decided to keep the canon malleable between their several thousand scps.

my internal head canon is that the scp list is an scp stitched together from several different realities. the list has a few rules - mentions to other scps by numbers always appears correct/makes sense - mentions to scps that number would correspond to a different scp is always redacted - certain things (scps, groups etc.) seem to be a constant in referenced documents

The scp founfation worksbin aultiversal scale meaning some are different from others. In one universe the foundation started int the 1900's in the other it was made by this video or in the other it was made by the spiral path.

Oh man, I think this calls for a SCP-fangame where you're one of the very few competent UIU-agents trying to contain/combat anomalies and have to compete against the other GOIs. You can either gain the attention of the other groups and join them, or help making the UIU the most powerful organization and wiping all others out.

So basically we live in an alternate Universe where the Foundation never existed. The UIU does exist, but since due to lack of many anomalies, we don't hear about it that much. The Foundation is the cause of anomalies, as said in SCP 6998
