Alexie Belitrov is my favorite SCP ever. For the design, for the personality, for the story. Everything about him is peak SCP.

This was actually the first Scp I ever saw and was my introduction to both scps and The Exploring Series. I found The Volgen soon after.

Yeah, SCP 1000 for the Engineers is what I first thought too, considering that Dr. Friedrick knew what he was mentioning. That said, there are at least two distinct version of extrapolation that have been made regarding SCP 1000 that I know of. There's the original telling, describing them as a vastly intelligent, vastly strong night-dwellers who went "extinct" for more tehcnological reasons. Then there's the Kaktusverse version, where they're.... wait has he watched the Antediluvian stuff yet? I know he did Audopopudopolis, but did he do Titania's prison or the other Knight's yet? I can't remember.
