I got chills! When I read the title I thought “hmmm I wonder if the planet is shielded or blocked by something...” and “is there life on the planet?” my god.

I have a theory: The "planet" is stuck phased in between its own dimension and our dimension, which disrupts the flow of space time. Which in the face of anyone non native to the planets dimension, suffers from anomalous extra-dimensional thought. Therefore anyone not daring to explore its existence, which leaves it to be in a "hypothetical existence to anyone who encounters the thought of the planet.

I love these ontological SCP's, it's like asking "What came before the Big Bang?" The question itself doesn't literally make sense since time itself "began" with the Big Bang, so therefore there could be nothing "before" time started. We are limited by our frame of reference being based on time itself, we can't conceptualize a state of existence that is separate from time, but that's exactly where ontological SCP's exist, separate from time, and thus separate from our concept of existence itself. This goes so much deeper than The Matrix with regards to what is "real"?

So what I gather about this SCP is that their may be a civilization that lives there which is sustained by people thinking about it, but something very negative happens to them when they are actually observed, thus they use memetics to survive. I'm reducing this but I think thats the gist of it.

We know the gravity effects of something significang is there but we haven't been able to observe what it is yet (and a new planet is one of the leading models, though its been challenged strongly in the last year or two).

I didn't even know until today that the SCP Foundation had gotten into the 4000's, I remember back when I discovered the site and it only had 2000 or so articles. The idea of a 9th planet in our solar system has been a rather popular one lately, and it's not surprising that the SCP Foundation would tackle one of the more popular urban legends, much like they did Bigfoot and The Bloop in the past.

From a writing prompt standpoint, creating a marco-scale setting based on quantum-scale physics is very interesting. Reading between the lines of the auto-generated warnings, we can understand that the planet does exist, supports life, and is critical to our solar system's stability. However, knowing this as 100% truth forces the planet to stop existing in the super-position state, thus destroying it ecosystem and endangering the entire solar system. The warning system is meant to protect both sender and receiver.

Definitely interesting, but it does take some prior knowledge to get into. xD It does remind me of some theories regarding human thought, reality, and perception, but I haven't got much experience with and understanding of physics on a level such as this. Still, a great showcase of the intrigue that the SCP Foundation inspires. Love it.

When I first clicked on this video I didn’t expect to be as disturbing as when you really start to dig deep and consider the possibilities

An infohazard is something that affects you if you know about it. Example: a joke that will cause you to laugh to death if you hear or read the entirety of it. A cognitohazard is something that affects you if you perceive it with one of your senses. Example: a .jpg file that makes you believe you are being stalked if you look at it. Or symbols in an ancient language which make your eyes catch fire if you look at them; you don't even need to be able to read them. A meme, or memetic hazard is best explained as a CONTAGIOUS infohazard or cognitohazard. Example: a song that makes everyone start playing along; the more people that play it, the more people will hear it, being forced to join in. The idea is based on real life memes, which are pieces of cultural information that spread through language, AKA a viral video. Something being "memetic" doesn't mean it's anomalous. It just means it's virulent. SO, if the anomalous effect of a planet is that you don't perceive it unless you already know about it, then that means it is not memetic. Unless knowledge of the planet makes you tell other people about it, it is not memetic. However, it is mind-affecting, and an infohazard, as thinking about the planet will incept certain conclusions in your mind. I know you said you were giving a simple explanation but simple =/= wrong.

Very simple way to remember how SCPs are classified. If it is in the box and it has no chance of escaping it's labeled SAFE. If its in the box and may or may not escape it's labeled EUCLID. If it's in the box and will most definetly escape it's labled KETER. If it is the box then it's labeled THAUMIEL.

I really dig the SCP content! Granted, I like all the content here, so I might be biased.

I wouldn't say it is uncharacteristic for the foundation to leave it alone if that would be necessary to not trigger any hostile action. Besides, aside from leaving it alone, they have put enough containment measures to prevent contact from both (human and planet) sides. I don't remember (as there are tons of scp already) but this kind of containment has existed before due to the impossibility of trying to put an scp in a building, which in this case, an entire planet. If the planet exists.

My theory is that the civilization have 50/50 chance of becoming a thing or ceasing to exist when seen directly (like the whole shrodingers cat thing), so they use memetic effect and the weird burst of light to keep them selves basically real

This sort of thing sounds like what would happen in technological accidents within the universe of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Some poor saps found out how to manipulate Probabilities to bend spacetime on a large scale (As per the fiction's usual) before they were able to handle the consequences, and got stuck in a Schrödinger paradox.
