I explain why I'm going for an x-carve cnc to the Onefinity Journeyman X-50 cnc. Also I screw up my carve at the end of the video. Luckily it's salvageable because it's just the profile cut but still.

And when it's probing Z only for a bit change, flip the probe to the other side and it probes the pocket of the probe and not the small circle on the other side

Thanks for the additional advice. I didn't know that on the z probe.

You know you can raise the z to install your new bit and then go to your monitor and hit probe z only. This will then restart from your home position with the new z recalibrated. You were standing in the way of the camera to see if that's what you were doing but from the little i could see it looked like you were trying to do the bit change without moving anything.......Hope this helps if that's what is happening

Thanks. My mother always said I made a better door than window. I had both the engraving path and profile cut in the same file and a box came up instructing me to change the bit but I couldn't move the machine. Now I'm wondering if the joystick was turned on. Hmmm the joys of learning.
