You must've not watched the TEA RWF then, because even though the top streaming teams (including the eventual World 2nd) were all copying each other, it was really enjoyable watching them (and the community) try to figure out various mechanics.

@@domovoi25 i think that works in just the very hardest fights tho aka ultimates. Normal savages just aren’t on that lvl to still be maximum fun with this.

The purpose of the PTR is basically 3 things: 1) Free-ish advertising, as the contents of the PTR become the subject of numerous videos and datamining to determine what is next. 2) Boosting revenue by turning the playerbase into unpaid QA interns so you can shrink your QA team. 3) Fixing bugs.

This is not about the speed but the strats is. Or in your racing car case . I may say the map of how it look and how to race on it .

A big issue this specific tier is the tremendous queue to log back into the game if you DC. I know Xenos had this issue with his group and it delayed prog by hours.

His additional commentary on a video, and someone reacting to that video, which extended and elaborated on a topic that people wanted to talk about which became a video on his youtube channel that extended the original source material and its derivative material into about 4x of the the original and 2x of the derivative.

Wow players have been conditioned into thinking the PTR is basically the real patch/expansion release. It's so fucking dumb and it really goes to show how important it is for story elements to be hidden for a better reveal -- or perhaps, not have a fucking PTR in the first place and have blizzard use an in-house testing team to do the raids like ff does

I don’t think people go into the 10 000m foot race not knowing the variables- competitors specs (speed, strength, agility, equipment), the type of course they’ll run and have changes made to various things mid race. Kind of a poor comparison, but starting earlier will always be beneficial. Any guild that doesn’t agree could always take the first day off! Strange that they don’t 🤔. (I know). Regardless, you have to hate the game, not the player. The EU>NA, NA>EU bias is cringe af.

She's not time gated but the way the fight happens is that you need a balance between boss dmg classes and multi-target classes to be able to push the boss to the end. Echo brought it to 50% (the fight ends at that point in the lower difficulties), but it turns out she wouldn't die until 45% on mythic, so they had to change their entire team composition to try getting an extra 10% boss damage (a bit more actually, since the first phase always ends at 84% so you can't gain boss damage there). In phase 2 of the fight, the raid gets split in half, each side kills their mobs, then the raid regroups to deal damage to the boss before she flies away and P3 begins. Echo tried sending one tank to the left side (ignoring the add, but tanking it so it doesn't wipe the raid), while the whole raid went right and killed their adds, in order to save more cooldowns for the boss burn right after. However, this was hotfixed so you required more players to stand near the add, otherwise it would oneshot the tank. At this point most people thought that the gear level was too low to kill it during the first week. Additionally, wow has a system where they give you a piece of high level loot if you've killed enough bosses in the past week, on top of a shard system this patch (won't go into details, but it's another huge dps boost tied to RNG), so the combination of that armor piece + the bonus gear from reclearing (which is extremely easy for top guilds to do) means you get an insane power boost when reset happens. So essentially most people thought that Echo would lose because the boss was tuned too hard for week 1, and fairly easy for week 2 (for WF raiders of course, most of us didn't get there until a while later), which has been "confirmed" by Complexity Limit (world 2nd) getting the kill on their first attempt of week 2. Echo did eventually manage to kill her before NA reset happened, but there were a few hours where people thought that no one would have enough gear to kill her week 1. I hope that was somewhat clear :p

the later you do splits, the more gear you can trade since the characters have mythic gear, you can also distribute it better. Also it's usually better to save splits for the harder bosses since they might need to funnel certain classes, including alts

Sorta. Basically, one of their tanks kitchen-sinked all of their CDs, and survived what was intended to be an enrage, letting them see further into the fight and gain intel, and it was patched later. Also, TEA was plagued by datamining that many teams used.

There's always mechanics meant to wipe you in raids. Everyone does this on prog once they realise that they've fucked up and the boss will kill them. Either a tank invulns through the attack or you layer defensive cds on them so you get to see what the next few mechs are.

NO Game company should rely on players to test their content before release.

@@debatinghealer Depends, Blizzards issues have always been shitty Producers, you know the job thats suppose to make sure the product is actually decent and well made before it goes out, Microsoft can easily keep Blizzard essentially the same and just replace a few Producers or even 1 Executive Producer who would actually be like, yeah no this is shit, fix it. Not even joking sometimes thats all it takes, a Producer with the correct knowledge and experience.
