The top clamping mechanism which uses the thumb screw to hold the blade is very convenient for the top clamp, but it looks as though the bottom clamp is tightened using an allen/hex wrench. This can be very awkward when changing blades, as with DIY-store scroll saws often have a metal cover has to be removed to make it accessible, and the limited space available makes it difficult to hold the blade in position while tightening the allen screw to fasten the blade in the clamping mechanism. Also, clamping mechanisms that squeeze the blade between its two halves have to be pushed apart when changing blades in order to be able to insert the blade. Due to these problems, I returned my to the DIY-store where I bought it. The clamping mechanism shown here in my view is an improvement on cheap clamping systems, but when it is compared to others like the Pégas or Hegner clamping systems, it is still well behind in terms of ease to use. I don’t understand why DIY-store scroll saw manufacturers don’t supply their customers with scroll saws that have user-friendly clamping mechanisms.🤷🏼♂️😳☹️ The problem that hobby scrollers are faced with is that DIY-store scroll saws cost about $100, whereas scroll saws from e.g. Hegner, Pégas or Excalibur cost from $600 to $1000 and beyond..
You talk about the bottom but you do not explain about installing the bottom part. I have an old Ryobi that enables me to do small work. I would love to be able to change blade faster.
I agree; there is little room on the bottom clamp holder, not to mention it is upside down, making it difficult to see the top of the Allen screw that would have to be removed to attach your product. Please address this problem.
Hey guys have you considered replacing one of the grub screws with the same knob on the bottom as well as the top? I got one of these a couple weeks ago and it’s a huge improvement, but toolless blade changes would be even better

Im the same, my wife bought me a Vonhaus scroll saw for Christmas that has the same pinless blade connection and so far I havent managed to successfully fit a pinless blade. This looks like the perfect solution. Can we get these in the UK
hi, im restoring some old alloy wheels, they are aluminium and due to the details in the wheel style its taking forever to remove the paint and lacker to prep for painting, how could I do it at home without spending the next 3 weeks sanding by hand? will a sanding mop attached to my drill work?
