I love my WEN scroll saw and have had zero issues. Sounds like alot of your complaints are user error im afraid. Ive had quite a few scroll saws in my 30+ years of woodworking and this IS a decent saw. Ashame you "missed" the footage of you actually scrolling so we could critique and give pointers on your technique
This machine's blade storage set up and blade changing abilities already included with the machine when it arrives is a crafter's delight. If the storage area is a pain, there's always the use of plastic tubes from cigars, medical swabs, and they'll be a lot more reliable than any other storage device in helping us to keep our blades straight, and free from rust, esp. in warm humid climates. I'm very keen on getting one of these saws now that my beloved old 16" Craftsman's blade installation connector broke and the pieces are unavailable. Yes, I could order a converter kit from Olson, but I'm almost 72, recovered from three strokes and I'm not sure if investing in a new saw from the get go might not be a better investment considering that the conversion kit represents nearly a third of what a new Wen for 120.00 from Amazon would cost. But this Wen looks like a very good deal.
I have a 3921 and the blade replacement is my main issue. I am going to try a well-placed light and see if that helps. I have yet to break a blade. I had the same amount of training you had (out of the box), and I like mine pretty well. I am sorry you have had so many problems.
Get the Dewalt!! This is one time not to be save money. I have never had problems on the WEN with blades. The majority of teeth must be down. I feel like there was a fine tuning the blades issue. But your project was really good!!
Beautiful sign!! I purchased the same Wen Scroll Saw, I had the same issues as you... The only difference is, my saw is sitting in the corner of my shop collecting dust. I am not sure if I will ever use it again.. HA HA HA
I'm.actually in the same situation you were I'm an avid crafter and I'm really wanting a scroll saw but am limited on what I can spend I did look for the next video you mentioned about a different brand saw you loved but couldn't find it but the 3921 sounds like it has everything I'm looking for along with the cost I'm looking to spend but I don't want to destroy $20 worth of blades on one project either but I have a million questions like what blades I need for 1" thick MDF board, if it will do a 360° cut, do I absolutely need the foot petal, does it vibrate a lot, do I need to attach it to my table or is it okay without being attached, I could go on and on with my questions list but you are only the first review I've watched on this wen model maybe since this video was made you have more information to share and could help a crafty artsy girl out before she jumps in blind as you did!!
No disrespect intended but that’s 100% pilot error. I’ve had the WEN for 3 years. Zero issues. Great scrolls can be cut with it. Was plug and play….🤷♂️
At what point do you get to the tutorial? You can't create a tutorial if have a couple hours experience on a machine. Trying one craft project doesn't make you a teacher. The blades only break with age or tension. They are brand new, which means your dong it too fast or incorrectly. Edit your title and call this an UNBOXING.
