Video #696: Out of the 22 current Souffle colors, only 6 of them show just a slight shift in color after baking. That's pretty darn good! More Info: www.beadsandbeading.com/blog/?... Polymer Clay Tutor.
In this video I will go through all of the Sculpey Souffle Polymer Clay Colors, and show you show the differences between raw versus baked samples.
Sculpey Souffle is a very opaque, matte polymer clay with a suede-like finish that has very little change in color when baked.
Recently I showed you sample chips of all the Premo Sculpey color line, and the differences in color between the raw samples and the baked ones. In this video I do the same thing, only this time using the the Sculpey Souffle line.
As I go through the entire Souffle line, you will see that out of the 22 current colors, only 6 colors show any perceivable differences at all... 5 becoming slightly darker (Igloo, Sea Glass, Lagoon, Royalty and So 80's) and 1 becoming slightly Greener (Robin's Egg).
All in all, the few color shifts that did happen, were so minor that they are hardly worth worrying about.
One of the nice things about this brand of polymer clay, is that what you see in the package, is what you get when its baked. The really is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) clay!

I just got the multipack of this to try "painting" with clay and doing some jewelry pieces. Still getting used to working with it but I love how it doesn't stick to my hands as much as other clays. Btw I've been watching for a while and don't comment much in general, but I really appreciate your videos, they're so informative and nice to watch!

Hello Cindy, Thanks for another great video and for removing any colour-shift mysteries for us. We have been receiving lots of great comments regarding the Souffle clay at Shades of Clay. By far the most favourite and best selling colours are Mai Tai and Robin's Egg!

Most of the shades via the computer; is either 1 to 2, in a couple 2 shades even darker. The saying "oh, it's close, no, it's not close, it's 2 shades darker. This might not mean much to you but to us who are more precise in our estimates of color....it does make a difference...smile.... but thanks so much for your experiments...what you do is so very helpful!!!!! Much appreciated!

Thank you for the video.I always appreciate the comparison raw vs baked videos. It's nice to know ahead of time if there will be a difference in color once backed.

Hi Cindy! I love all of your videos. Can you please make a tutorial on how to use metal leaf on cured clay? I've been trying to make dangle earrings adding metal leaf to half of the shape and trying to get a clean line but it keeps flaking off. Please help!

+PolymerClayTutor Cindy, is there less of a color change in some/most polymer clays when they are covered during baking?
