Barbatos appears and Aphrodia gets nuked, so it's up to us to clean up. Barbatos is just slightly weaker than Turn A (Dark History). Same stats, lower HP, slightly lower attack power (7000 for its strongest attacks), a range 2-5 multilock attack and Hyper Nanoskin (20% HP recovery per turn). Fortunately, it doesn't have any special defences so you can hurt it normally. It will also hang back for a while.
Which is good, because you still have to fight 8 copies of your units. Fortunately, they aren't exact copies of your units. They all have 20,000 HP (or sometimes weirdly 19,990) and 300 EN, with an ATK/DEF/MOB of 35/30/30. Their 'pilots' have 40 in all stats. Their movement range, terrain ratings, abilities and weapons are the exact same as the unit they're copying, so you might find it pretty rough if you're forced to fight a bunch of copies with I-Fields with your Wing Gundam.
As if that wasn't bad enough, you can't move through the center of the area. They, however, can freely move through it. What utter rubbish. Oh, before I forget as well, you can only deploy one group here. Fancy that. You raise two teams all game and in the end, you can only use one. Sigh. On the bright side, if you're really having trouble with the set you're fighting, you can try rerolling the stage itself to see if you get anything better.
Anyway, the Challenge Mission requires you to kill all of them in 3 turns. They will rush you immediately, so you don't need to worry too much about being unable to cross over the area in the middle too much. If you fail the first Challenge Mission, you get a second chance as you'll fight a second wave of copies which you'll then need to kill in 3 turns. The secrets are four Girder (Type IIIs), which have 60,000 HP and a ton of firepower.
As you can see, I didn't bother killing everything here. The Girders were ridiculous, but ultimately I didn't feel like risking anything after Barbatos joined the battle properly. I don't have the firepower and defence to handle this safely yet. Anyway, I take down Barbatos and it's finally over. Loading my clear save unlocks Halphas, and buying it and using Design with Phoenix unlocks Barbatos. We can also now play the Hell version of all the stages.
You can get a ton of new powerful Option Parts, and there's one new stage, Hell Road. All non-player units have increased stats, it starts as +20 at the start of A (Hell) and goes up to as high as +80 by Hell Road. The pilots also have increased stats as well, though I can't tell what the formula for the increase is. However, your units are unchanged, including your battleships. This is pretty horrible since it makes your battleship far less effective against everything in Hell, so your own battleships mostly become transports. Bleh.
I don't intend to record my run through Hell as it's just playing the game again with inflated stats. I will show off Hell Road with the current crew once I get there.
