This is an introductory course explaining different visions of what SDN actually is. The course also shows you real world implementations of SDN in very large networks as well as high security networks.
You will also learn about how OpenFlow separates the control and data planes of networking devices.
You will then see a practical demonstration of an application communicating with an SDN controller and Open vSwitch devices.

Thank you David - may I ask why the controller had a different port number on your web browser - shouldn’t be the same as the one from the dump command?

did u install mininet on windows directly or on linux??appreciate any answer

The Mininet Devs have a pre-installed VM of it available on their website, or you could create your own Ubuntu 14.04 VM, and follow in the install directions. It's pretty easy to get Mininet going. I wouldn't necessarily install it directly in my Linux machine.

What I ended up doing, was to omit GNS3 entirely, and create VMs in Workstation Pro for Mininet and the various OpenFlow controllers, and set all their vNICs to vmnet8(NAT). Not only could they get online to install the software and dependencies, but they could directly communicate with one another, as well as my host OS and Chrome. :)
