Honestly when I watch sea trout swim in their natural environment I get the same feeling I did when I was a boy of tea years old. It fascinates me. Especially in such clear water as this. Thanks for sharing.
This fella knows his stuff! Iv caught 1000s off seatrout but never at night it's hard enough in the day best fighting fish there is had one this morning!👍🏴☠️
The atmosphere when night fishing is amazing all your other senses are heightened when your vision is taken away by the darkness. Every angler should try it at least once. Thanks for the comment.
hi absolutely great video, nice to know that river sea trout can be caught at night even in autumn. I have found ,like yourself that the joy of catching them is enhanced when they swim away safely after being released. Do you have a favorite fly size.
I always fish two different sizes on the same cast, on the point i use a size 8 and on the dropper a size 12. The bigger point fly gets depth and the dropper then fishes mid water, sometimes the trout prefer small flies and on other nights they only hit the larger flies.

Here in the states, a 5 foot spinning rod and a small single hook in line spinner with crushed barb is ideal for brook and brown trout at night.Seems it would do nicely on sea trout.
Some times natural drift depending on water depth and speed, but where I fish normally the river has slow and deep pools so figure of eight retrieve can be very productive as the takes can be very aggressive and one needs to have direct contact with the fish and all slack line off the water.
