I'm no cooking genius but I do think that for the salmon pasta you could use capers instead of the peas to help cut through all of the richness

Awesome episode! Just one gripe: I'm pretty sure that "yellow risotto" was supposed to be paella

I feel like the "risotto" on the anime was just a Paella, but I wanna try this version too!

Hange’s potato soup towards the end of S4 would also be really nice

The "Risotto" is probably Seafood Paella from Valencia Spain or something close to it.

I think it’s important that you didn’t try to cover up undercooking the lobster. So many cooking channels only upload once everything has gone exactly according to plan, and it’s not really realistic in my opinion. But seeing you make a mistake reminds me that not everything has to be perfect all the time and I really appreciate that.

Thanks for reminding me about the saddest part of that show. I'm gonna make the lobster extra salty from all my tears.

You should make Maya's most favorite ramen from Ace Attorney. There was an episode where Pearl, Maya's cousin, accidentally broke a very special shell that belonged to Maya, previously belonged to Miya. Phoenix decided to help her find out where the shell came from, but among Maya's things was a map of a specific beach circled with a specific time on it. Phoenix and Pearl went there and found a sacred shrine. They decided to pray in front of the shrine, hoping it would help them find a new shell. All of sudden, they hear a Ramen Kart on the street, and then, WHOOOSH!!!! Maya pops out of a secret hideaway, fresh as a daisy, scaring Phoenix in the process. When they ordered some ramen, and to Phoenix's surprise, the shell they've been looking for so hard, is a bowl for that one ramen she loves so much.

This is up there with the chef’s choice platter from monster hunter!

as an italian person, i guess the penne with salmon are meant to be with smoked salmon and heavy cream. it's a classic here

I'm not a seafood fan, but Alvin has such a great voice that I can listen to him talk about anything while working.

That scallop clam casino seems more like Coquille St Jacques, a wildly popular restaurant dish in the '70s, than like clams casino. The mussel dish seems like Mussels Fra Diavlo.

Hey Alvin, can you make the medium nonfat milk pistachio deep mocha dip cream Frappuccino with chocolate sauce (and gobs of whipped cream) from Komi Can’t Communicate? I think that would be pretty fun.

The pitch of Alvin's voice seems obviously forced to sound deeper than it naturally is when he does these voiceovers. He sounds much more natural in other videos he appears in on other channels. Sounds like he's taking tips from Elizabeth Holmes

surely that 'yellow seafood risotto' is paella You actually did that lobster jut right, but once you pull it out undercooked, you're meant to take out the organs and then oven roast it the rest of the way :D

I completely disagree about the cheese on fish rule. Fish is generally a sweet meat and cheese is sharp and fairly savory. Sweet and savory are a perfect mix and I often have seafood based foods with some sort of cheese with it. Tastes great!

Can you please check out a new anime called CAMPFIRE COOKING IN ANOTHER WORLD WITH MY ABSURD SKILL - it's basically exactly as the title says. Guy gets transported to a fantasy world where his only useful ability is that he can order food from the regular world which he then cooks. Like if your unique skill was being able to use instacart. I learned how to make karaage chicken by watching it lol.

I can’t imagine the painstaking care it takes to get seafood correct in a restaurant kitchen. I like cooking, and am very much a novice, so I have a lot of respect for people working in restaurants.
