Myself and 4 buddies saw Taps in the theater together, which was weird in itself because five guys going to a movie together isn't something that happens often, but we were I believe in 7th or 8th grade, watching guy's a little older that would become the biggest stars in Hollywood. Two years later I went to the movies with my mom and younger sister (3 yrs younger), so my mom had her watch the PG Outsiders by herself, while my mom and I watched Sean Penn in R rated Bad Boy's. I had just seen Sean play Spiccoli, summer of 82' and this was early in 1983, and the differences in those 2 roles for Sean let me know that this guy was a dude! And you saw all the stuff he did after. On the opposite side Tom Cruise was crazy tough and nuts in Taps, then hyper in Outsiders, and then played a rich HS Sr very well in Risky Business, so you could say the same about Tom's versatility as a young actor!

When I was in L.A., a friend of my family drove me by Lucille Ball's house ( I don't think she was living there at the time but I don't know for sure). You can't see much because of the privacy walls surrounding the property.

Alreem Kamal I think Sean Penn had a lot of emotional problems back then, but you have to remember that it was 30 years ago and he appears to have sorted out those issues. If we held everyone accountable for what they did in their early years, I'm not sure many of us would be considered model citizens. Not trying to diminish what he did - it was horrible and he deserved jail time, but he doesnt' appear to be the same guy.
