On this Memorial Day, I remember my brothers lost. This is pure power and conviction. I spend my wee hours of the night just in pure thought. Thank you for such a great piece Sean.
Always thought of myself as a strong man. Dont let much get to me or bother me. If you can listen to this entire song without crying you are not human.
I discovered Sean Rowe through the EP this song is from when I stumbled across “The Colors and the Kids,” which is another song on that same EP. While the Cat Power cover honors that song and takes it in a meditative direction, this Lucinda Williams tune is given a reading that transports the listener into the visceral dichotomy of war. Hell on earth, death, dismemberment in the enemy’s presence abroad, domestic business as usual back home. The harmonica reaches an increasingly urgent crescendo until you see the bullet pass through not only the protagonist’s heart, but his family’s heart as well. I knew Sean was good, but, fuckin’ hell, this is something else. I hope Lucinda Williams has heard this rendition of her song.
On behalf of all veterans thank you for this song!!! Cuts me deep when I'm alone and play this. Brings things back to mind from my youth in Iraq! I Went over a kid and came back an old man! Only the dead have seen the end of war!! - Livy
So real so true! Most people couldn't understand this. I haven't fought a war but; I can feel everything he has to say! While your children are home and play. Thank you to Our Veterans. Lets keep the peace!
If it wasn't for the accountant I might never have come across Sean. The minute I heard it at the end of the movie I was blown away by it. Best part about the movie.... Straight on to RU-vid to discover him. Pure class. When are u coming to Ireland?????☘️
That's drilling down to the core... it says it all... so crude, yet so tender, so loving, so desperate... if it weren't for the all so real, daily and miserable pain of so many people around the globe, I'd call it great artwork... respect, mister
To be honest, this song has kept me so humble in the fashion that there is actually someone out there risking their lives for our freedom. Thank you all for your service
God bless you. We're all brother's. We should learn to get along. We tell our kids learn to share and be nice in the playground and then do the opposite. And we all wonder why hate happens
My cousin, he was like a big brother to me, he was my big brother, he was looking for his legar residence in the US so he join the marines, he became a ranger then, Lit. Marcos S. Carrasco Oscos. When I was a kid, I suffered from bullying from most of the kids at my school, in high school same thing, even in college, but he always appear at the right spot and time to protect me, like a super hero, he teach me then how to fight, how to stand your ground and fight, fight for what and who you are, what you love, what deserves to be fight for, family, partner in love, real friends, he showed me that bleed for that it's a true honour, and I'll will do it if it's necessary one day, without a doubt in my heart and mind. I miss him so much, I wish he would be here to see the men in what I transformed myself, I wish you, Marcos, be here and keep teaching me about life, love, work, family, music, comics, movies, all the stuff we used to speak about, I wish you could be here bro, but you have gone years ago, your duty and service take you away from me, and I don't blame anything, I am very proud of being your cousin, of being your brother, I'll make you feel proud of me, because you always trust in me, you always see stars in my head and feed them with your support, and I will make you feel proud, the same way I feel proud of you. Love you Marcos. -Vogel
I'm sure I'll be saying the same as others, we'd never have known about Sean Rowe except for the movie The Accountant. Bloody great movie, but best of all, great song. Puts a lot into my heart of what he's trying to say in this song, I'm thinking that he's ex military as I am too. 4 years Australian Army. The more I play and listen deeper into the lyrics of the song, the more tears will fall on my face. God bless you man (Sean) for singing such a beautiful song.........thanks.
Love your Music Sean. I was the younger guy who came up and said thanks for the show when you played Riverside Park in Amsterdam. Keep doing what you love, because others love it too.
The most under rated artist. Should be mentioned with the likes of Dylan Young Cohen etc al So sad but so true with whats happening around the world today I cried aldo
