So a little scenery change! I was recently in upstate New York for a few days and had some opportunities to fish! While it was challenging at times, I did manage to pull a few fish up to the kayak!

Not a bad day on the water Dan, I don't always hear the name of the lakes you fish up there, I've only fished Cayuga Lake , I like your fresh water trips best, that's all I do here in NJ, just fished Merril Creek Res. Not a bad day but windy. Looking forward to the next lake video.

Thanks Chris, yeah, I generally don’t mention the lake names, just to be diplomatic, as I don’t want to overly burn the spots for any of the locals… Yeah, I didn’t get as much freshwater in this year so far… I generally hit the fresh more in the cold months up until Spring. I would have take. A few more jersey trips last winter, but the brutal cold and gas prices kept me lazy indoors! Thanks for watching!

Yeah, I haven’t been freshwater fishing as much as I used to… but if you haven’t, you should give lake trout fishing a try! It’s like a mix of fluke fishing and diamond jigging! Best part is, they bite all year, even in the dead of winter!

Little known fact about this lake - it is oxygen deficit in the deeper parts. In the summer, this often forces them into a very narrow band of water, between oxygen-poor water on the bottom and warm water on the surface. 40-60 FOW is the sweet spot.

Interesting… there is one deep section of this lake that I have reliably found fish in this lake in during July… however, to your point, aside from that area, I’ve rarely marked fish in this lake in waters above 70 feet. Thanks for watching!
