You could argue is was more of a coven sequel cuz the only significant thing they brought from murder house was Michael and he was essentially a new a character
Very much agreed. Coven was my favourite 🖤 chapter, but this was my absolute favorite scene🎵. There was a car commercial out just before the chapter came out, and it had the song in it.
I had no idea about the storyline. I screamed with happiness once I realised the girls were back. Loved Coven. Re-watched this on YT so many times + this is my Favourite song by RS. Just the most epic scene ever.
Me too, this show was my life but gave up after 1984, Ryan Murphy pushed it off a cliff he was spreading himself too thin over all his other shows and AHS suffered the most.
What was amazing about watching this in real time was that you weren’t expecting the witches to come back in that moment. And their entrance made it even more iconic
I remember watching this and when the music came on the radio, I was like no they are not going to do what I think and boom you saw the witches, I screamed yes!
Thats how I felt I was like damn and I saw the hooded people but I expected like more outpost type people or some shit. THEN I SAW THEIR FACES AND I WAS SENT!!!!! then i kept hoping for Marie to make a comeback and boom this season delivered.
there truly is this chilling feeling I get when Cordelia stops and stares into the camera while standing in the mist. The shots of Myrtle and Madison with her knowing sht is about to turn up. Seriously some of the best shots of the season.
Holy shit, Ive just realized something: "the hallmark of a rising supreme is glowing, radiant health". Watching back at 2:20, when Cordelia brings them back to life, mallorys glasses make her vision blurry because her eyesight is now 20/20, and the look on Cordelias face when she realizes the implication of what this means...
Great theory, but the reason for the glasses and the recovery of her vision was the ending of the spell to change their personalities and memories done to her and Coco. Whe she was a witch she've never used glasses
The biggest thing this season missed was incorporating Scathach from AHS: Roanoke given she's the first Supreme, being included with the battle against Witches/Satan.
I read an article after Apocalypse aired where Ryan Murphy teased that the witches would indeed return once more. Whether it happens though is anyone’s guess. I’m assuming he would save that for the last season if it does ever happen. I’m with you in hoping that they do return for one more go around.
This season was too short and it had so many missed opportunities and such potential :-/ The 8th should be only about the apocalypse. They should have explored the story of miss Venable, the Cooperative, how they planned it, why they planned it, the story behind those two characters which seemed to be one of the main ones, but they just died here. And they should have just hinted somehow that the Antichrist was involved in that. Also they should have used other characters that they had. Then the entrance of the three figures at the outpost could have been a good ending. Then they could have continued the story of the witches and the antichrist in the 9th season, but with the ending which would not undo the good things that happened in the Murder House. Or they could have made one longer season with two parts, like they did with the 10th season but with a few extra episodes in order to have a satisfying story for both parts. But anyways, I liked this season, but it could have been better.
I agree with all of this to be honest. They could have still done the Time Travel thing though and have Madison release all the souls in the Murder House after Mallory gets her out of Hell.
The good in murder house wasn't changed. They said that ghosts don't operate on the same time state that the real world does, so Tate and Violet are still happy together :)
I was hoping we would at least get a scene with Fiona. She was invoked so many times in this season. Even in death, the power she holds over the coven is legendary.
The most surprising part was not the return of the witches per se (to those of us who knew it was a cross over with "Coven") was seeing Mrtyle and Madison back.
Me: *watches this for the first thinking they were coming to throw down and mop the floor with Michael* Them: *hopelessly outclassed and having to exploit time travel to win* Me: ▪_▪
I feel the entire Lousiana Coven should have come to the final fight witches in numbers are unstoppable outclassing any warlock one witch can light a fire to burn someone at the stake 6-7 warlocks are needed to light a bonfire I wish coco developed more offensive abilities rather than a joke gift
@@IsaiahWong8tbf, we saw that there were extremely powerful warlocks who were above average witches (in terms of power variety at least) who could do more than just "light a bonfire" so they weren't completely outclassed but yeah, the made a point to show witches were overall more powerful.
Just realized after all these yrs, the “find our sisters” part, both Myrtle and Madison located all three witches in the outpost, in which, I’m pretty sure that requires divination. Anyway, so does that mean Madison technically mastered all seven wonders then🤷🏾♀️
So many questions in my head caused my brain to melt in 2018 What are they doing here!? How is Myrtle alive!? Who brought Madison back? Is Madison good now? How do they know these people? I will say season eight was cleverly written
Even though I haven't watched all the seasons, Coven for me was the best, and Madison the best character of all!!! After Coven, I can't imagine AHS without Emma Roberts!!!❤❤❤
The fact that there is technically 3 Supreme's in the room because Madison was in transition of becoming one until she got her throat got slit and Cordelia Foxx is the current supreme witch and Mallory is the next upcoming supreme witch which she actually becomes
I didn’t see the previews. I don’t own a tv… Started to watch s8 and was like meh. Years later I decided to try again…I was caught by lovely surprise. Coven could have its own spin off and feature every other season. We’d all watch!
Season 8 sucked. Correction, everything about Season 8 that wasn't the Coven Witches sucked (and that was quite a LOT of Season 8). But this segment was glorious! Well scored, well shot, just generally well thought out, and what an impact it left after so many episodes of NOTHING happening! Only wish the rest of the season wasn't one long flashback of boring characters.
@@graemem5564 The flashback was dumb, the Silicon Valley Satanists were just plain annoying (not funny, not clever, not insightful, just one-note and grating), and the survivors in the bunker segment was a complete waste of time. Seriously, not ONE of them mattered and those first episodes just took time away form more interesting characters. What were they thinking?
@@cheeseattack3608 I agree, but... the season does a few things wrong with it. 1) It flat out makes canon that the house was evil and it manipulated Tate. That was always kind of implied as a possibility, but not outright stated so there was the question of whether Tate was influenced in his actions or if he was solely responsible for them. And remember this includes orchestrating a mass shooting, raping Vivien, and savagely murdering Chad and Patrick because they were gay and therefore couldn't have a baby. Blaming the house and removing his agency and guilt was gross. 2) Having Tate and Violet get back together was something the fans wanted, but the way the show did it with the mind-altering "magic dust" was very poorly thought out. We're meant to believe that it helped Violet "see the truth," but again, the optics of it are bad. She should have just come to realize that Tate was bad, but hey, she's kind of a shitty person too, so they're a perfect match, not some contrived loved dust. 3) After the time-travel reset at the end of the season, everything that happens in episode 6 is negated, right? That's kind of awful. Most of all because it means Moira doesn't get her happy ending.
I think apocalypse was a fitting end for the AHS storyline, however i am disappointed future seasons didn’t make their own overarching story like old ahs did
