Good to analyse how machine works and then focus on movement with respect to machine! Great stuff! I have applied eric's methods on chest , hamstrings and felt good pump. Thank you
Definitely will give it a try next leg day ! Always amazed by how Eric’s Logical take on using the path of the motion of the machine and cues to increase the output… just brilliant 🙌🏻
These series are awesome guys! I have (only) access to a plate loaded seated leg curl. The problem with that one is the leverage of machine: it only gives a nice tension at about 40% - 80% of the motion... the tension in the bottom of the motion is almost zero (when the hamstrings are in their shortened/contraction phase). Do you have some tips creating more tension outside the 40% - 80% midrange? I know resistance bands are only valuable for the top range of the motion in this case, but the bands do nothing for the first 40% of the motion. Thanks alot!! 💪🏼💪🏼
Just a huge thanks to you dorian for allowing this to happen! I've watched you for about a year now and have became better at lifting because of you! Thanks to Eric for sharing his knowledge on how to move correctly! I've wanted to hear this type of info for over a decade and finally Eric comes in with a huge WIN!
I have heard that the first part of the movement is all calves. Do you recommend trying to keep feet dead or tense and pointing vertically as most do? Or does foot tension really even matter? Thank you. Really like this new series. Learning a lot!
I’d try to leave feet relaxed as possible. The gastroc crosses the knee so can help in movement BUT isn’t about training hamstrings. Also dorsiflexion strategies tend to lend to rotation around the knee which doesn’t help what we are training. Great question
@@ericseifert6107 thank you. I always get a little confused at the start of the seated hamstring curl as to relaxed or flexed foot position. I would actually do a few sets each way. Lol. Thanks again!
Do you typically perform both hamstring curl variations (Seated & Lying curls) in the same workouts? Due to the hamstrings being trained in more of the lengthened position on Seated hamstring curls vs the hamstrings being challenged in more of the shortened position on the Lying hamstring curl?
Obviously your choice. I kind of find one vs the other on a leg day…maybe make a switch back and forth? Try these cues and see if you can the most of seated options..I’ll make sure to go over a laying leg curl video for you guys.
