How'd you know I'm over 30 😂 Awesome comparison, had to go with the FR1s I've got wide ass feet! Also Flying eagles are really rare over here in Europe.. keep up the good work!

Love my F7s. So eager to get more frame bolts from proskaters place to decrease vibration. Took awhile to figure out the liner to make it comfortable as the boot is on the narrow side. Even had to take the lacers out, the dual density provides enough stability. Great for sliding. Love pulling off jumps over grass sidewalks, the excellent shock abosorbtion on the landings makes it smooth.

Now it's 2021. What about Flying Eagle F7 Optimum Dual Density versus Flying Eagle F6S? Right now the F7s are being sold for $10 more than the F6Ss. That sounds almost too good to be true. Are 7s done? Bottom line: which is the better skate?

Perfect timing for this review (for me, lol). After trying 3 different skates, I think Flying Eagle (F6S) is going to be the win for me for my small, narrow feet! Love the boot with all the ventilation and it just seems to fit my foot. I wish they sold the boots separately cuz I have 3 different frames I want to put them on. I ordered up a size but I really shouldn't have done that so now waiting for the replacements (so much waiting ........ 😭). Thanks for this review! I didn't know about the little grooves near the screw holes. That's pretty handy for someone who's nervous about swapping frames like I am. :)

@@rabkido2011 The best thing you can do is to go to a running shoe store like Fleet Feet or something else (I went to Fleet Feet, but here that other running shoe stores have it as well) and have your feet scanned. It will tell you everything you need to know about your feet - if they are wide/narrow, high/low arches/instep, etc. Good luck!

That weird foot shape thing is why SEBA is the only brand that fits my wide and high feet properly. Love my Trix 3x110's! I tried a powerslide tau carbon and i'd have confessed to anything after trying them for 1/2 hr. pure pain & torture. i'd probably need to upsize to EU47 from EU45 to even begin to fit. Good to know Flying Eagle would be same issue so i don't waste time on them.

The drifts fit me great with no heat, but the hardboots took some work. I'd definitely look into the Drifts if you like the Trix
@ados1980cz
@ados1980cz 6 лет назад
There you can see how much this differs. BTW powerslide size numbering scheme is bit weird on taus and some other recent powerslide models. What used to be EU42 is EU43 now but US and UK size numbering has not changed at the same time. To get most accurate fit possible when ordering online one should measure foot and check manufacturers numbers related to each sizing. I have 272mm long feet with socks on, normally wear UK8-8.5 and Taus EU43(UK8) feel absolutely comfortable on my feet right from the start. Admittedly my feet are either normal width or on the narrower side of the average. I did not measure the width or height of my feet.

Great informative video. Thank you sir! I was planning on getting some FRX boots for my first 3 wheel setup, but after watching this, I might have to get the F6 instead. I have normal width feet I think, I want a tighter more responsive fit now that I am doing more technical tricks, and I need the stiffness to protect my healing ankle. Hummmmm. I love my Seba's as a 200lbs 6ft 2in old bloke ...Tried Rollerblades and bloody awful powerslides..too narrow or ankle pinching ( Kaze). If the liners on the Seba's get squashy , replace them ! I think that the first skates which took the urban skating seriously were my 2002 Salamon Deflectors which introduced the term FSK - Freeskates. I still have them :-) They came with nice shock-absorbent and durable boot, with UFS mounting. UFS frame with 72mm wheels which I moded to accept 80mm since. I have to say that, them being 16 years old, feel quite unstable now. I must have finished the boots when using Kizer trimax on them, exposing them to much more torque powers in different directions :-) But they worked great for me over the years as urban skates for transport and fun. I used to skate them to work in Prague's sunny and warm early summer mornings when roads were quiet, navigating between tram lines going to city centre, these were great times of my skating in early 2000' :-) These are the Salomons on Trimax :-D ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3cNM9U2R6SY.html edit: the heel pad in sunken on my 2002 Salomons FSK too. :-) photos.app.goo.gl/sV9Ivwgi2TwBg83D3

Hi Drew, nice review man. Only one thing so far, I have not finished watching yet, is that the major difference between FR1 and FR2, 3, FRX is the number of frame mounting options on the latter models, and If I remember correctly the mounting points may not be reinforced in the same way on the lower end models too. Back to watching now... :-)
@CityBlades
@CityBlades 6 лет назад
I'm 90% sure as of 2017 the FR1, 2, and 3 use the same shell, which is why Leon at Shop Task uses the FR3 as the base for one of the special Shop Task/intuition skates
@ados1980cz
@ados1980cz 6 лет назад
Ok, thanks for correction, I did not know that. I would agree on same shell, that is not what I was disputing. It can be same shells essentially, but the frame mounts can differ still. But If you say so I trust you :-)
@CityBlades
@CityBlades 6 лет назад
AH I got you, like maybe a different number of holes. Yeah I can't say for certain, I've never held all 3--someone at Shop Task or Pro Skater's Place would know
@ados1980cz
@ados1980cz 6 лет назад
Yes, different amount of holes thus less range to move frame around and adjust it precisely to your liking. And not interconnected front and rear mounting points thus less rigged/stable ones. Anyhow my first 3 pair of inline skates, two in 90' (noname and Roces) and 2002 Salomons Deflectors in 2000' were not adjustable too in any way and that was ok I guess. But the skating has moved on since a bit. What size is your foot, how tall you are and what weight if you don't mind telling us please? I think that plays a big role in choice of skates, wheels sizes and their hardness too etc. I myself I am 5'9" (175cm), 12 and Half stones approx. (176lbs, 80kg), 272mm (10" 2/3) length of feet (UK8.5, US9, EU 42-3) :-D

Hey.. I have both the 2015 and 2016 fr1 models, and according to locoskates, where I bought them, the 2016 version had an "upgraded liner, and a stiffer frame". The frame part, I noticed the difference, it's stiffer, looks and feels more substantial on the 2016, (not rockerable tho), as for the liner, I actually prefer the liner on the 2015, it's more comfortable for me. I made this my rockered setup. I'm not even halfway thru your vid, I'll carry on lol..

Nice review, as ever. I can't comment on the Flying Eagle, never skated them, but I have three pairs of fr1's loll.. (rockered, flat, and tri-skate, 2015 and 2016 models), and I love them. Seba is done, right? Lots of speculation on that, but Micro Skates now took over the Seba factory, and Seba is only big maker who has not yet introduced a 2018 line despite it being April (Hell, they barely introduced anything since the 2017 lineup from early 2016). Inline Warehouse no longer stocks Seba skates at all since October 2017, and Pro Skaters Place has only a limited selection. 😞 Sad, love Seba. But with each passing month, it’s becoming more obvious that they are toast.

Fr skates share the same hard shell for every 2or3 foot sizes. Flying eagle, Tempish or other brands, who sell their skates at a lower price point, do not produce as many hard shells for each model to keep the cost low. Not sure if I am explaining it clearly...... flying eagle is popular in Asia here because of the lower price point. But we often have skaters having a big gap between the liner and the hard shell. It certainly depends on which size you order, some sizes fit nicely some doesn’t. If it doesn’t fit, you have less control as you feet are sliding back and forward. Even for F7, two of my friends have this issue.
@wkt5916
@wkt5916 6 лет назад
And that’s why integrated liners are so much better.
@CityBlades
@CityBlades 6 лет назад
IIRC they both go up every 2 euro sizes (at least in my size) my FR's are a 41-42 shell and the FE's are a 43-44 shell that runs slightly small--I'm a 42 in Seba and a 43 in Flying Eagle. I haven't experienced any liner shifting in either. Also my 43 FE liner fits the Seba shell better than the 42 seba liner, haha Are your friends using the stock footbeds? Upgrading to something thicker, about 3-5mm may help keep their foot in place. 5 was too much for me, 3 was perfect--depends how thick your feet are Another trick for them may be bigger liner/smaller shell, like a 43 liner in a 42 shell. I haven't tried it in Flying Eagle, done it lots with other brands... but if you're in Asia and know of a place that sells them locally, it'd be a good thing to go down to the shop and try
@wkt5916
@wkt5916 6 лет назад
My friend’s F7 is size 44 (the other maybe size 37) but there was a 1-1.5cm gap between the toe end of the liner and the very front of the hard shell. They bought theirs from the Flying Eagle official Taobao online store so they must be genuine. FE’s hard shell might change every two sizes at the middle range but they cut cost at the two ends of the distribution. On the other hand, Maybe FE just improved this as they are entering the western market.
@wkt5916
@wkt5916 6 лет назад
Btw, there are model F1s,3,5,6&7 in the Asia market. When I browse Locoskates.com from UK, they have different models for the market. Same for Seba and Powerslide, the look(color,decals,etc) of the genuine skates are different between the lower price market and the higher price one. This prevents Europe or NA skaters ordering from Asia.
@CityBlades
@CityBlades 6 лет назад
Yeah that's weird, because the F7 shell is 43-44, so 44 should max it out, and there is no 45 in that model. I know the F6 comes in a 45-46, but not the F7. With my 43 liner/44 shell there is some space at the top but not really at the bottom... the absolute end of the boot gets really narrow so my guess is it's just some extra space at the end for people with morton's toe or something--lil extra stretch room for the neoprene. According to the sizing chart the 44 liner is about 7mm longer. I guess my assessment would be... the liners seem to go as far as you could feasibly fit your big toes, and then there's a narrower extra bit for weird toes. If this doesn't describe your friend's skates they must have changed something.
