Afro's second attempt is crazy good, he was literally in the flow and dodging all the tricky combos by pure instinct. Then the following attempts went back to normal. Erlang is insanely hard, don't feel bad for not beating him in a few tries.

And when she meet the destine one (now look so much more like wukong) she is happy and give you the stone because she knew her son is still alive

as frustrating as the Erlang fight was given how long it took me, I thought it was fitting, as the final secret boss he should be the hardest boss in the game given he's optional. He's also the only character in mythology to beat Wukong in a fight. It's normal that he's ready and has counters for everything you throw at him, it's shit he's already seen against Wukong who was far more powerful than we are.

I love how the whole fight he’s just explaining how much he misses the homie Wukong, while simultaneously being the reason why he ain’t here.

That 2nd attempt was fkn amazing. The fact that you raw dogged that fight without the FAN is insane. Save yourself the headache and use it! With building up your Qi, you should be able to use it at least 3 times. It just rips right through his shield, then while it’s chewing through it, follow him while charging up your heavy and let him have it as soon as the shield breaks. Took me a few attempts to get all the timing down.

This fight... before the final battle in chapter 6, is fucking cinematically peak, it's such a fucking spectacle bro, I swear. Don't give up on the secret fight o.o

On the bright side, after this infuriating dude, the final boss will feel like a walk in the park 😂 (I did it the other way around, simply because I lost to Erlang so many times I got disheartened and just went back to complete the main story - eventually coming back to Erlang only because I wanted to get everything before starting NG+. This fight is INCREDIBLY TOUGH, but the ending and rewards are well worth it!)

It's OK afro it will be worth it, 3 more fights (2 and 1 bonus fight technically after Erlang) then you will unlock the chapter 6 animation. If you are interested in the lore, I recommend to watch ending explanation video from MadLuigi, Stories with Cookie, or AvenueX (very compehensive detail of each chapter and other things) because even I watch Journey to the West I still miss a lot of things from the story. But one thing many people miss is Erlang has been on our side the whole time.

Fighting Erlang was when I realized how to put words to what the game had been teaching me up to this point. If you start actively thinking about each move you make during a fight, you’re gonna lose. I had to unlock ultra instinct to beat him. No conscious decision-making, just fighting on instinct

This boss fight has so much going for it, when you master this boss fight it makes you feel so stylish that it's honestly insane.

no worries. it only took me 50+ tries to beat this Erlang cheat. lol. Not gonna spoil it. But there's a way to break his shield fast and early. Combined with the right transformation, some might think it's a useless transformation, 99% of the time, it's useless, but it's for this 1%.

Here's the thing, he's a secret boss, one of the most difficult bosses. Probably THE most difficult. But he isn't the final boss. As the game rewinds to before the final boss fight if you hit continue game after winning without beating him. Meaning he technically can never be the final boss.

Afro, when Erlan is in the air you can deflect the swords or knives that he throws at you, but dodge at the last second (when the red lighting appears) or use the rock solid or misty step to avoid the damage when he launches at you. And try to use the fan too, to diminish his shield (the bar above his healt)

This boss is all about playing the phases of his combat. Use the duplicates after the 2nd phase, when he flies int he air and does laser beams at you. It's more of a slow and tedious fight that has to obey the rules of his combat stances.

Unfortunately i can't watch more since i have just got my ass woop by erlang, i haven't progresses to chapter 6 😂😢😢

Tips that helped me in this fight -Erlang can be immobilized once his shield is down -Use the Azure dust transformation -use cloud step when he’s got you against the ropes such as low health and you need to heal -use the jade essence brew to gain mana throughout the fight, letting you use immobilized and cloud step further Good luck bros

Erlang's like the top commander for Heavenly Court Army, so he can order Yin Tiger, one of the Zodiac Guardians to bounce. That's why he can cancel your Yin Tiger transform

A quick tip- use life saving strand instead of clones as it gives a free resurrection.

Re equip the fan it melts his shield so you can focus on dealing damage,when you have 4 focus points go into cloud step so he doesn’t dodge your charged attack, but do it while he’s attacking your decoy because he “sees through” your cloud step because his third eye sees through illusions and tricks in the book
