SECRET LIFE: Episode 2 - Best Friends 

This series has went from "Doing a task without getting caught" to "Just everybody doing REALLY weird stuff and no one questioning it" and I love it

Etho figuring out something was up, but being willing to give it to you and not ruin it - the true mark of Best Friends.

I love that Mumbo's interpretation of "best friends" is "I'll do chores for you and defer to you for all decisions" lolol

I love that twice now, Mumbo has been too nice for certain people’s tasks. For Grian he laughs all the time, for bdoubs, he gets interested into boring stories

The entire server crammed under trapdoors in Pearl’s dirt hut is one of the most chaotically wholesome moments I’ve ever seen

I love how they all not only collectively decided to go under trapdoors in Pearl's base, but also to start singing happy birthday to Grian.

Between the weird sideways house, the collecting gravel for Lizzy and the building of a corner in pearls house, imeediately jumping in the hole and talking about getting others involved in the mound cult, I think the takeaway from this series is that Mumbo is extremely suseptable to peer pressure.

I love how Etho just traded Mumbo for a cow and this worked

Task idea: Make a useless redstone contraption that does absolutely nothing and explain it to someone how it works for 5 minutes. If they leave or get distracted, restart the timer. Start the conversation with, "it's really quite simple."

I dont know why but Mumbo saying, “I still fanboy and get nervous” about Etho just threw me through a loop. Like, Mumbo is a fan of the same youtuber I used to watch as a kid- Etho is just such a chill fella I often forget how much of an OG he is. Its just crazy to me lol

8:28 - i'm a huge fan of these little edits you've been making lately. they're nice and subtle, but i can tell you were laughing about it for at least 10 minutes in the editing phase.

Honestly, the whole trapdoor shenanigans is probably going to be one of the most memorable parts of this series... a LOT of individual things just happened to work together in tandem to make it happen. Jimmy's task made him come to Pearl's house in the first place, which led to Mumbo wondering what was going on, leading him to find Pearl, Impulse came along with them to see what was happening, then Mumbo added on his section of the corner leading to him placing a few trapdoors, which led to the others also messing around with trap doors, and because Scar's task was to be Pearl's hypeman he started bringing people to Pearl's base, and then EVERYONE just sorta ended up joining in.

I want Mumbo to continue forcing himself onto Etho as a bestie. . . Like, for the rest of the series.

I don't know why, but that "Oh yeah I'm weaponizing BEES" caught me so off guard and had me absolutely cracking up.. The Life series has had me hooked since day one, but this season has already produced some of the absolute best content on this platform in just 2 episodes. I can't wait to see how the rest of it goes.

Here’s an idea: Film a nature documentary over two people on the server who aren't you for at least 60 seconds. If anyone notices you or interrupts the film you must stop and film someone else

I like how Mumbo titled his video *Best Friends* while Etho went with *Server Full of Weirdos*

Mumbo getting all nervous around etho is honestly adorable

I think Mumbo coming up with the Earth idea to get closer to Etho for his task is the sneakiest play ever and when watching other people’s perspectives, I never guessed it was task related. I thought it was just Mumbo being Mumbo 😂

don't worry Mumbo, we are all fangirls of Etho. Etho is a national treasure.

I love how Mumbo was way more successful in starting a cult despite that not even being his task. I guess experience pays off with that sort of thing!

Task idea: patronise a player on a subject they know lots about. Explain game design to Tango, teach Bdubs about gradients, that sort of thing

I absolutely love that "Be friends with Etho" Is a task that they put in the cycle to be randomly picked. The fact that they knew that would be difficult for anyone on the server must have had them absolutely giggling during the planning phase.

I was hoping everyone had the exact same task to be Etho’s best friend, except for Etho, whose task is to completely avoid everyone for 30 mins.

Task Idea - You have to make everyone around you suspicious about what you are doing, but never do anything

You know you've got a real best friend when he sells you off to the gravel mines.

I love that Jimmy and Lizzie basically got "yes, and" -ed to death in Week 2. Everybody was just way too willing to play along!

The way some of these tasks are lining up, like mumbo having the perfect excuse to go to etho, is brilliant. Unless mumbo only suggested the planet knowing they needed wool and that etho had a wool farm, if so mumbo is a genius

I like how Mumbo mentions how good Joel’s base looks, meanwhile Joel is talking about how much he hates it 😂

I love how Mumbo has basically been a yes man to all the wrong people for 2 episodes straight

Honestly a joy hearing Mumbo interact with so many more hermits than he usually does - he has his core interactions with Grian and Scar on Hermitcraft which is expected, but getting to see him hang out for entire episodes with other people is so much fun!

Mumbo's laugh at 6:03 made me smile. Something about a wheezy hearty laugh just brings a good mood, especially since he mostly giggles. Also, learning that he still fanboys over Etho makes me want to find all of their interactions.

Mumbo genuinely seems to be having a very fun time in this series and it makes me so happy. It seems he’s embraced the saying yes to anything that happens, with Bdubs’ upside down house and Jimmy’s house in pearls mound. It’s so much fun just going along for the ride even if it ends in a crash and burn sometimes

Mumbo and Etho is the combination I never knew I needed until now. Secrets aside, I think they would be a really great team!

I would love to see etho and mumbo do more stuff together this is amazing

Task idea: The first person that you talk or talks to you in this session, you must only speak to them even while trying to talk to other players

Task Suggestion: Pick a random player on the server that your not based with, and butter them up for 5 minutes as if you want something. After 5 min, just run away.

this series feels like a social experiment that tests the range of weirdness one can tolerate and i love that

TASK SUGGESTION: (Bases Don’t Need Backs) Help Grian build his base for 15 minutes. You can help with every part of it besides back. If you get called out on specifically avoiding the back of the build you fail.

Mumbo x BDubs is a delightful duo I didn't realize I was missing.

I like mumbo's intense laughter after Scar and Lizzie's conversation Scar: "please keep your hands and arms inside the camel at all times," Lizzie: "inside the camel??"

The fast text pop “I still fanboy and get nervous”! I love how all the hermits are each others fans! I especially love that Mumbo and Etho are having interactions as it’s super rare!

The party at pearls keeps on reminding me of the dwarfs entering Bilbo’s house in the hobbit

I just realized, this series is the second coming of hermit challenges

Task idea: tell everyone you found an ice biome and lead someone in a full circle around the map and keep telling them “we’re almost there”

I love that Mumbo just yells at grian when something explodes “out of habit”

I swear there are moments in these series where everyone collectively turns their brains off and become one massive hivemind of doing weird stuff and I love every single second of it 😂 the trapdoor bit made me laugh so hard.

Man that airhorn popping up for a split second had me in stitches!

Task idea: two hermits get the same task as eachother. The task will be they figure out who else has the same task as them. They will have to walk around the server and will not be able to ask what each others task is but will somehow have to find out.

*Mumbo and Etho crouching in a dirt hole, TNT exploding around them* Mumbo: they have us surrounded! These may be our last moments, comrade... Etho: you were a great ally, for this whole series. We stuck together through and through... Mumbo: *uncrouches* well thats my task done, cya! Etho: Mumbo: Etho: i knew there was something up!

I loved how organic the party at Pearl's mound was. Jimmy started it, but Mumbo made it a trend. XD

If you pause at just the right moment around 16:35 - 16:36, you can see Grian's invisibility particles for a split second on the very right hand of the screen.

Task idea=Watch Grian for 10 minutes and write notes about what he does in that time without him noticing.🤣

this season is so different because instead of everyone doing everything with their alliance now everyone is just running around and interacting with whoever they find

Task idea: build an underground path connecting your base to another player's base without them noticing. (Though I worry this task will be too easy for some whose bases are just a few blocks from other players)

Fanboying over Etho is understandable no matter how well you know him

It would be really funny if everybody got the quest to become be best friends with big B for half of an episode and big B's quest was to keep everybody out of his base for 5 minutes.

That point in the video where the whole server had a party mid-video is the highlight of my week

This is such a cool combo. Mumbo and Etho

challenge: for 15 minutes follow someone and try to get them into as many situations where they could take indirect damage (but not necessarily), without them noticing.

This episode solidified it as the best Life season so far. Way more kind-hearted and absurd. It'll be a slower build up to war and I love every second of these early, green days.

Hard Task Idea - “accidentally” Tell Grian your task, but make it up and once he brings you to the fail button press the success button

Just some proposals for challenges: - Convince a player that you are being hunted/watched by another player and make the player that scared that he/she states to "have seen" things. - Build a house out of flammable material, get a player to argue about its style - and then burn it down in a burst of fury just to see how the player reacts. - Steal one valuable item from at least 3 different players really obviously without being mentioned - and run away without explanation when mentioned by the robbed player. (Each attempt must target a different player.) - Pretend to have a monopoly on sand and sell it for a ridiculously high price to at least 3 different players. - Uglify your skin and be at least in one conversation where nobody mentions your skin problems in the first 5 minutes. (A new conversation only counts if you speak with at least one of the participants for the first time since getting your task.) - Survive at least half the session ONLY on raw chicken. - Difficult: Pretend to have found a glitch in the game where you can "legally gain more hearts if you get hit by a zombie and a player at the same time" and convince a player to let you test it out on him. - Difficult: Try to sell usele.. *uhmmm* useful "mystery" items to other players for diamonds without showing them the item before the trade happens. At least one player must decide to trade for an item TWICE - and must get two unproportionally worthless items in return from you.

I'm loving this mound arc, when I was at primary school we had a 'mound' gang where we would hang out on the top of a mound in the playground and this is bring back those memories 😊
