I was so dissapointed when I found out he was going back to being a pussy again. After being so relieved to see he got based over the timeskip only for it to be fake pissed me off. That cringy "goro" weeb shit's just icing on the cake
I like to use Mineru on hinox because her shield can block all of their attacks. Also, charging up Riju’s ability will give you a better idea of your surrounding area when it is dark.
About the Frox... Just throw him a "ligth fruit" ("fruit de clarté") to stun him. Every time. No need to aim for eye. Some "dark creatures" (like bones ennemies) are very weak to it.
Mineru is so practical in the depts. you can just walk across gloom and mine with her hands. If just she then could climb and I found a good powerful attack, she would be perfect
Fun thing about mineru: if you wear the zonaite helmet, she gets some ornamental things around her eyes, and the feathery bit around the helmet also transfers to her
You know i wish there was some more interactions between sage abilities, like pairing Sidon's water strike with riju's lighting strike to make the electric aoe orb you only when you shoot into water or when its raining.
I just want them to improve the basic activation prompts, like having "Let's go!" show up for Sidon when shielding, or for Riju while pulling a bow out.
I think you’re onto something. There should be Sage interactions for all them. Like using Tulin’s wind with Sidon’s water makes a water tunnel that allows you to get across tricky jumps than with just Tulin’s wind. Using Yunobo’s fire and Riju’s lightning electrifies Yunobo and strikes lightning on those he hits. Things like that.
My general consensus on each sage (I may edit this comment if I discover more): Tulin: Very good with headshots. Can effectively embarrass stal enemies with the use of his ability. Particularly good against out-of-reach Horriblins and Aerocudas. Yunobo: Can light fires. Can break rocks. Very good against elemental ice enemies. No cool down whatsoever when on vehicles. Good against Pebblets. Can break enemy armor very easily. Sidon: Water Warrior mutually boosts both Sidon and Link. Sidon when it is raining and Link with Sidon's ability. Most accurate melee fighter out of all of the sages. Effective water elemental usage at any given moment. Riju: Dual elemental force in fire and lightning. Good against Evermeans. Can effectively disarm foes. Ability can be used for fishing. Good for dealing with airborne Flux Constructs. Mineru: Can mine with ease. Zonaite Armor works with Mineru. Can walk inbetween mine cart rails. Can fuse weapons that you don't need for extra damage. They must be at its base and have no attachments.
Sidon can also allow you to go into any hot area in the game with no armor or potion affects. You can also use his one hit shield to bait out a molduga then hit it with a bomb arrow in bullet time without wasting anything.
Yeah, I noticed that attaching things to it as if it were a zoanite sword seems to yield more attack power than attaching "powerful" weapons like royal guard claymore. Idk if it still has the buff for zoanite attachments but it seems like it and the construct horns and flux cores work really well for that.
Just wich I could use the abilities with a button from anywhere it’s so annoying having to look around and find the spirit to talk to it and accidentally using tulin while trying to interact with something
And then they run away from you in the middle of a fight while you're trying to chase them down to interact with them. That's when I just quit trying and dismiss them all out of rage and frustration.
Now that's - FINALLY - some good content on TotK! Literally everyone else except for Croton are discussing either noob features of the first 1 hour or glitches, that will be patched out tomorrow. Finally I found someone who has experience with the game
@@D4rkKyur3m you can get the sages in any order and i just found the thing you do to start the spirit temple and through that i got mineru, so now my team currently consists of a bird boi and a mech
@@D4rkKyur3m me neither! i thought you had to complete the other sages first and i think thats what was intended since there was a lot of story stuff revealed in the cutscenes that took place shortly after the boss fight
I actually ended up getting Mineru third without triggering her quest (Secret of the Ring Ruins) just because I happened to have have crashed at the Dragonhead Island. Unless you completed the pre-requisite quest, the Thunderhead and Dragonhead will remain shrouded from the map, as well as in the overworld. You won’t be able to see anything when you’re in there, so I just followed my Sheikah Sensor looking for a shrine as it went crazy.
Adding a glider or balloon to Mineru’s back and activating it will slow her fall somewhat. It’s still fast but it allows for some directional control. Also you can shoot a bow while on Mineru’s mech making her and Riju a pretty good combo.
i personaly like Yunobo as a character since hes a big sweet potato in my opinion . He is also up there on my fav list of Zelda characters besides master kogha and wind waker Link (cause off all his diffrent face espresions) , and midna will probably be up there too but i havent played twillight princess since i dont have a wiiU and only a nintendo switch but i hope both twillight princess and wind waker are gonna come for nintendo switch since if i remember correctly they where last been playable for WiiU (correct me if im wrong) and since Skyward Sword made its way to nintendo switch , twillight princess and wind waker will probably have a high chance
I’ve used Mineru to cross a handful of freezing water streams since she’s just tall enough for Link to not be hurt by the water, so I’d recommend trying it out if it’s not too deep!
Yunobo's great on a vehicle, but if he's attached himself to the side of your hover bike, be careful when you launch him... I discovered that he can and will blast you off of it if fired in the wrong direction.
I personally love yunobo, both as a sage and just himself. I just find him super sweet, and he would absolutely give the best hugs. The part where he was a ‘drug lord’ was pretty funny to me though. But yea I like the vid! Didn’t know some of this stuff :D
If you're in the depths, I like using Riju's?... Ability. The lightning lady for a... "Sonar?" Kind of thing, she can show you trees or edges and things you cant really see. I have all 3 Light armour to illuminate the area. But i find it she's the best to get an idea of whats nearby, especially if you're in the black abyss with no Light Root close by.
I also strongly dislike Yunobo. (He would have been FAR better had he just STAYED a bit evil and kept wearing the killer jacket.) But hes probably the sage I use most in combat. Riju is never in a position I need her in since shes a ranged skill but a melee fighter, and I never think of when to use Sidon. I have started using Mineru for all the Hinox fights though. I'll have to try her out on Froxes next.
She’s so good against them. I found out after making the video but she can just keep hitting them until they shake you off. Normally Link has to jump off to avoid the attack but Mineru doesn’t take fall damage so she’s just fine with it lol
Honestly whenever I see a giant miniboss (aka boss boko, Hinox, etc) I just use mineru and repeatedly hit them with no fuse and PERMA STUN that giant and basically bully them into submission. Or if it is something I can't perma stun it just turns in to a fight between titans blocking and dodging hits and it is EPIC. Edit: best moments in totk
Riju and Tulin with a lynel battle was _insane!_ Tulin got a stun shot on lynel allowing me to climb on, called Riju for a lightning charge before mounting and repeat striking the lynel, head shot after hopping off which initiated her lightning strike, which then ignited the grass everywhere causing updrafts which I rode up allowing me to bullet-time and go for another lynel headshot... it was an awesome moment
I got so excited when i started the monster hunter esque quest line from the guy at lookout landing but then after a few he just becomes a overworld monster counter and i was super disappointed.
I have recently started building yunobo spamming vehicles. Example, one wheel and steering stick to use in caves which require lots and lots of rock smashing. Slow vehicle to spam attack over world bosses. Etc
The way I fight Moldugais by just throwing bananas on the ground, then shooting them out of the air with Riju. I used to use apples to lure them, but then I had more bananas than apples.
When I first launched Yunobo at those rocks and realized just how powerful he was… I knew he’d be a good heavy hitter. I mean, he’s pretty much a bowling ball that you can use to blow rocks and baddies sky high! What’s not to like?
I wish the Sages didn't show up in spectral form. I would make rather Riju come down in a lightning strike when you activate her vow, and Yunobo burst out of the ground, and Tulin flow down in a gust. Or something. Something where they look solid. lol
Great thing about yunobo and sidon is that their powers both turn gibdos white. Even the queen one. Yunobo sets it on fire, and apparently water works on them as well. Definitely go to Gerudo Town last.
Don't do it last Gibdo Queen is by far the most dangerous boss to do 4th Colgera is basically free anyways, Marbled Gohma is a cakewalk, and Mucktarok might actually deal damage, but isn't so bad Gibdo Queen can actually be tough to take on, and her damage scaling is brutal. Do her second or third at latest.
@@aprinnyonbreak1290 did her last and it was very easy lol. So far, none of the bosses have been a problem to me, not even Phantom Ganon (I haven't found the Master Sword yet, I haven't finished the story nor have fought all the bosses)
I would use the sages way more often if their abilities were tied to the zonai powers menu rather than having to jog around the battlefield to interrupt them while they're engaged in battle
Meneru btw can glide using hot air balloons, wing, or hover stone if you didnt know. Character wise my favorite is easily Riju but , love yonobos rock smasher when the little ones start chasing you and ability easily tulips gust so I can glide farther.
Mineru is one of the most OP Sage, not due to her ability, but due to the fact that you can ride her, and istantly drop from it and proc bullet time. If you are fighting against lynel or other boss, you can simply proc the bullet time EVERYTIME, with the royal guard combo... Its Game break, you don't need bomb+shield anymore, u just jump in mineru, and jump off... Also, you can do that with gleeok's and it work as well - you can 100-0 gleeok's
my way to fight a molduga is to just use sidon's shield and walk around . he will attack me but i dont take damage and can enter bullet time in the air
What? Tulin is the best. You can defeat the Gloom Hands with the thunder? Well there arent glooms hands everywhere. Yes, everyone is good for something but Tulin works for a lot of stuff and is used more often. Tulin helps alot when fighting plus his arrows reach far away enemies. Tulin helps you reach far places faster. Tulin can extinguish fire, blow stuff, use on boats, clean the sand instead of using korok leaf etc. One thing I really like is that you can use Tulin so the brightbloom seeds can land farther when thrown.
The best sage ability is the ability to dismiss all of them. Lol just me and tulin chillin out all gane. I bring them out sometimes like fighting gibdos but lately for the most part i dismiss them.
0:50 true but as just link with no sages, ive melted health bars on standard froxes like its nothing. using the boulder breaker with a strong fusion on it will one cycle these idiots for free, because normal variety green froxes just dont have a lot of health. they're not good testing grounds for frox fighting strategies when stronger variety froxes also exist, and im not really convinced its the best way to fight them when i can just hold Y with a claymore and one cycle them.
hah should have checked this video before commenting on the last one! one thing i haven't heard anyone mention, if you use majora's mask or any other disguise really, sneak into a group of enemies and summon your sages.... they will just go ham fighting everything and all the enemies just. leave you alone lmao. I'm assuming the game is designed to treat the sages as independent entities separate from link
Show me Mineru killing a Blue-white Frox that fast and I'll be impressed. Until then, she stays locked up for causing me to mount her instead of Lynels on multiple occasions.
No one saying the best use of Sidon.. I won't spoil it because I've seen anyone talk about it, but do some testing, he has imo the best combat ability in the game, even including Mineru
@@umbruhhh I don't know why I see no one talks about it, but shock arrows while Sidon is shielding you cause the big AoE zap because the arrows are wet. It feels huge to me, but maybe it's common knowledge and not important lol
@@xxle0ru1zxx10 haha I just don't like saying things because it's fun to see how long it takes them to pop up on RU-vid It's so weird I haven't seen this when it feels like his best use Umbra was so polite I just had to do it though (and it's hidden in replies so I bet most don't see it)
using sages on the ground, where you have to'click' on them first is just terrible mechanic. I've had the bird one simply moving away from me when i needed him. And that's the only one i unlocked so far.. after like 100 hours lol
I can't stand the sage system in this game. I literally only pull out Tulin if I NEED him to reach something while gliding, Mineru to mine any small deposits, and Yunobo to break big deposits. The rest of the time, they're all turned off because it's pure annoyance. Even their fights that are meant to be designed specifically to show off their powers are just easier with arrow attachments instead of them lol
Control wise, sages are a massive step backwards. Why even have a dismount position on the mech?? Why not use Like a trigger+ a button? Did notbody play test this shit? Or Nintendo is being it's usual self, proud of things no other company does?
Seriously, why isn't B run and X dismount? Y'know, since B makes Link run and X makes him jump. How people with years of game development under their belts miss this, is beyond me.
@@BaldorfBreakdowns Nintendo wal always proud of its own designs, whom no other company would use. Stupid or otherwise. Clearly nobody tested this prior to launch
Mineru has singlehandedly opened up the depths for me. I can walk over the gloom, slap mobs away from me, and mine zonaite all from the comfort of my own personal mecha
