It is certainly odd to see the head of an organisation/corporation knowing about all the aspects of what they are doing or have done given the average performances I see of these sorts when sat in front of congress. Most of them don't know their asses from their elbows.

Its like the fuck how is this not covered by antitrust laws? They keep telling us about this "big bad inflation" as they build brand new stores do million dollar remodels, and buy out competitors all while going "well we decided to increase prices, also fuck over employees more on the next contract negotions" Its like the fuck. I had manager durring covid tell me how hard times were one day, trying to make me work harder so I got less OT, then bragging at the next days huddle about how badly we beat the sales records up till now. Why? If companies can't own housing, you just made like 25% of America homeless, anyone who can afford next months' rent but not a house. Apparently there is a moneyed campaign to pressure VP Kamala to fire Khan when elected. I really really hope Ms. Khan is allowed to continue her work as a competent regulator.
It's good that Bryan pointed out the concerted campaign by the large, corporate, leftist donors that are doing this. Shows some fair reporting here, in my opinion. We don't like this kind of behavior from "the other side". And absolutely should not tolerate it from our own side.

Thank you and your colleagues for your work, Ms. Khan. As someone who works within the healthcare system, it's been soul-crushing dealing with PBMs. They are the area of some of the biggest rot in our system, and have effectively created monopolies for themselves with vertical integration. The hands of both doctors and independent pharmacies have been tied trying to operate within the blatantly exploitative rules these companies make. It has a direct impact on healthcare, and unfortunately, the impact is not for the benefit of the patient. Any efforts to reign these PBMs in is not only desperately needed, but would have a MASSIVE impact on getting every day Americans the care that they need. I just want to be able to help my patients feel better and live their best lives.
This is such a clear illustration of how vital it is that agencies are able to fully carry out their duties, rather than be overridden by the mere opinion of politicians or the judiciary.

I personally have experienced this. After many calls and frustration I took my fight to my credit card company and they actually refunded my money but I had to follow up and push them to help. In the end they did the right thing😀

Thank you for interviewing Lina Khan! Everything she said about proposed rules made perfect sense. Especially the "unsubscribe as easily as you subscribed", I was thinking the very same principle - and then she verbalized it. It made me very happy that FTC is gearing up to set clear, fair rules that make sense and that protect the consumers from being exploited and preyed on.
It’s pretty crazy that someone who seems so sane and righteous was able to get into her position. Hopefully she’s as good as she seems, and they don’t undermine her.
They make huge amounts of money in a good economy far more than the piddly amount dems are asking them to pay in taxes it boggles the mind that they would rather see less profits just so they don’t have to contribute to the very society that makes them their fortunes

Trump lower taxes to the wealthy, but imposed import tariffs that basically are a tax on the consumer. When you impose import tariffs avocados from Mexico, Mexico dores not pay the tariffs…to consumer pays when they get guacamole. So, inflation is in part caused by the import tariffs.

No, it's 0% of the cause. Not because they aren't super greedy, but because they were ALREADY super greedy 10 years ago. And 20 years ago. And 30 years ago. Why didn't they charge this much back then? That theory doesn't explain anything. What actually changed is the Fed printed a bunch of money, that's what causes permanent inflation, always has always will. (and to some extent, population increasing). It's simple supply and demand. More money exists because the government printed it = supply went up, demand didn't, = value of money drops = all prices go up.

Of course. _People_ have a conscience, _corporations_ don't. And yes, it's people with a conscience (at least sometimes... far too many psychopaths in corporate leadership positions) that make decisions in corporations, but they tend to excuse - to others _and themselves_ - their behaviour with "corporate interests", which circumvents their conscience.

The USA are all about "freedom *_to",_* in contrast to Europe's "freedom from". I don't want the "freedom to" do whatever I want, go groceryshopping with a military rifle or some similar arrogant nonsense, I want the freedom *_from_* having to protect myself against some lunatic endangering me - and the freeom *_from_* corporations exploiting their employees and customers as much as they want.
Inhalers used to be so cheap that even when I had no insurance, I could get a generic albuterol inhaler for $11. Then, when the government was phasing out the use of CFCs in other aerosols, it allowed the pharmaceutical companies to continue to use it since it was such a small amount. However, big pharma took this chance to reformulate the inhalers to get new patents so they could block generics and hike up their prices. Greed, straight up American corporate greed.
My doctor prescribed an inhaler, for COPD, 4 years ago. They were $400.00 a month. I couldn't afford that. Last month they came down to $35.00. Thank you President Biden/Kamala Harris and Lina Khan. This doesn’t surprise me at all. People are so quick to blame inflation (which is dropping) when it is simple corporate greed that is causing so much pain for the average American.
Umm inflation is what they are doing that is what inflation is. Them raising the prices you confusing "inflation" for increase in supply costs. But in reality its just one of a million things that could cause inflation in the end inflation is always decided by the person setting the price. I mean shit every time till recently min wage went up in my state rent, and things like milk out paced it and they blamed the min wage to make people hate min wage increases. Its like how does min wage going up 20% make my rent go up 38% that makes literally no sense. Same thing min wage goes up 20% price of milk goes up 30% over night. Shit is just an excuse I worked at a gas station for my first job after graduation I worked night Hurrican Katrina fucked up gas prices. My district manager came in not because corprate said "OH god our costs just skyrocketed!" Hell no they declared national emergancy and their insurance covered that shit and put their hands out for their emegancy releif fund check. No no she came to me in a panic because she got a text message with price of a competing gas station price going up radically, and she got out of bed at like 2 am and got on a ladder and changed every single sign personally that night. I signed for the invoice for gas shipment it didn't actually go up really, but we kept increasing the damn gass prices like once every 6-12 hours till local consumers said uncle. I mean fuck we got full tank 2 days before the hurrican they sucked the tank dry panic buying gas with in 2 days. Like they made fat fat stacks of cash off it and people just went "well that damage to the pipeline..." its like one they won't feel that for another month or two, two they get paid before the regular citizens due, and this won't even increase their insurance rates they file a claim and local governers will move hell and heaven to get them repaired with in a week, 2 tops at tax payer expense... And people looked at me like I was crazy, then yelled at me like I got paid on commision when for price of gas its like mother fuckers I still get paid exactly the same and I got buy gas after work just like the rest of you, there is no employee discount!
