The reason that is considered suspicious is because the setting is basically in cold war germany split between east and west. Time frame seems to jump between the 60 70 and 80 at times. In that high tension area and time there was a lot of spy paranoia as well as tons of spies. Both sides basically turned half their population into semi spies that were supposed to report every little thing about their family and neighbors. That was actually intended by the government, not to actually get a lot of people, but it created control. The majority of the populace wouldn't dare to step out of line out of fear their own parents, children, husband, wive, friend, colleagues or neighbors could report them for every lil thing. In the east it was even to the point that group assemblies of above 3 people not related by family were suspicious. Also they gave awards for being like a good mother and the like, while working women were accepted (in west germany husbands could demand their wives to be let off permanently if they wanted a stay at home wive) they were also appreciated and endorsed to be mothers for the next generation. So women above a certain age being without a men and child without a "good" reason aroused suspicion if there is not another reason for them staying single, like needing the freedom to conduct spy acclivities without being noticed. My own mother was reported to the secret police commonly called stasi by her own father. They did things to her like putting you into a windowless cell on a train and driving around for days with you not knowing were you were at all.

i keep seeing people say this but that only makes sense for Yor, not Twilight. Twilight is supposed to be a world class spy who can deceive just about anyone. he has to have a complete and thorough understanding of what's "normal" to do that. it makes no sense to say he doesn't know what normal is or else he'd be shit at his job. even in the show he identifies literally every other weird thing/person except Yor. it's contradictory.

@@ssickhead1Yor’s part of an organization that’s even more secretive than the sss and westalis. Loid’s already done detailed background checks on her and found nothing out of the ordinary, so basically even if he sees something weird he’ll just consider it to be a yor moment, cause let’s be real even outside of being an assassin yor has many unusual personality quirks.

@@Wryyyyyyyyyyyyu What kind of suspicious activity on Yor's part except she's strong and knows yoga pressure points LOL It's nothing contrary to her background info. I could say other things but it's kinda spoilery. I never think about this at my first watch anyway.

@@rusenakman She’s not good with chores and klutzy. Since you mentioned spoilers I’ll assume you’re a manga reader and bring up an example in the manga: When loid asked her to take care of his part of the chores she accidentally burned up his clothes while trying to iron them

lets be real the author uses the rule of cool when it comes to certainly situations, like sure that shouldn't work out but lets just pretend Yor rolled a 1 when Loid threw the grenade. also forgot about Loid knowing Yor was an orphan who raised her younger brother, unless she told him he knew way to much about her for it to be normal.

It is definitely an explosive proposal.

Not to mention, she really has no frame of reference for what "normal" entails so if a "professional" tells her "This is how it's done" she's got no choice but to basically accept it cuz she has nothing to counter it with.

I think the "Christmas cake" matter, which ladies should get married by the age of 24, was until 80's. The average age of first marriage is 30 yrs old now in Japan, and 35% of the couples get divorced. 😉😂

I'm sorry, but I've seen so many of western people spread some archaic social norm of Japan that doesn't exist anymore, then get mad that it's archaic. Bruh, it's not the norm anymore to think that women above 25 is late for marriage for anyone below the age of freaking 70, which is, the absolute majority of Japan population. It's just like any other part of the world.

it is not just that logic does not work on them but rather they cant afford to risk their position for mere logic. From twilight POV, if he questions where did Yor learn her moves and why she knows how to fight that well etc... he risks to lose his best chance of securing wife and jeopardize the mission. Spies no.1 rule is to not stand out and not make a scene, that means going with the flow even when flow is outright ridiculous. Better to be safe than sorry so if that means not questioning why your wife knows how to jump fly round kick people to oblivion then so be it. Same for Yor, she is assassin and she needs to not be suspicious, if that means marrying someone she will do it simply to "fit in". and as someone who spent their whole lives doing nothing but killing and honing their skills to kill better they know nothing of what it means to be someone wife or how to act in social situations. She also does not know other profesions and she cant afford making a scene by questioning things. Imagine a chess game. When you have two pro players you can see them using their skills to defeat each other. But if you have one pro player and one hustler, the hustler will look like they dont know how to play. To untrained eye hustler will look like they are noobs even though the whole time hustler is in control of the chess game but in order to do so the other player must not find out hustler identity otherwise they will stop treating them like a noob. The forgers situation is similar to a chess game between two hustlers where neither knows the other one is hustler. You know you are hustler but even if you have suspicions other person is a hustler you cant reveal it otherwise other person will realise you are hustler too cause only a hustler in a chess game can find out another hustler (takes one to know one).

I think simple way of saying this they are both out of touch on what normal people actually do thats why they dont know what going on top and not 😂

Also, every time Yor does something out of her normal self o a little suspicious. Twilight blame himself for that and is afraid that she is going to live him because his focus is the mission
