Here we've got cameras focused on Jimmy as he works solo in the Artisti Espresso bar for approximately 30 minutes. In this video you're able to check out Jimmys work flow, how he's handling orders, multi-tasking and preparing coffee during some steady morning trade. It's a good insight for anyone looking to work as a barista into life behind an espresso machine and what you should be thinking about while on the job. Not only how you should be processing coffee orders and dealing with customers but what you should be doing in the down time to stay prepared and ready for the next rush.
Hope you enjoyed watching Jimmy in action and if you have any questions please drop us a comment 🤟

You click into what I call "rush mode". You are able to pump out drink after drink without really stopping to ponder, and you do it in the most efficient way possible. It's an awesome feeling, and one reason why I personally love it when we get big rushes of people in my coffee shop.

my favorite thing about watching fellow baristas who are far better than me is observing how they move. it never seems forced, fast or unnatural. watching baristas who have been serving coffee for years move as fluidly as the water is so brilliant.

Thanks Caleb, really appreciate it. I’ve worked around 12 years on and off in cafes and espresso bars. So I’m pretty comfortable behind a machine. Under 2 years as a barista, used to be a bartender and i've really got to say this is a perfect workflow you've got, my workflow is pretty similar in every aspect but without all the equipments like a milk dispenser, puq press, 3 group head la morzocco machine and i don't even have a pitcher rinser 🤣 but man it's my dream to open up my own cafe with all the fancy equipments one day! Looking at slayer espresso though! worked with la morzocco machines before & they are a workhorse but aesthetically slayer defo wins imo. Keep up the good work!!

What an amazing learning opportunity. I loved your attention to detail with things such as your process for pre-ground decaf, and the element of consistency in your tamps between staff members for consistent pours. I really felt the time crunch in those first few orders, and reading how you broke down each movement, strategy and justification. I had one thought about an efficiency process. If you're meticulously tracking each order, could you change your process from writing on cups/post it notes to a digital display? It would display concose orders with the benefit of digital timers and an All Day readout. I'm using the Square KDS app which has been a brilliant improvement in our bar.

So I’m 31 now, I’ve spent the better half of the last 13 years in hospitality covering nearly every aspect of it. I’ve yet to do this as a job I love coffee, love making coffee love efficient work flows, this is the inspiration to look at doing that

Jimmy thank you for sharing this part of your work. Greatly appreciated. As a baby barista at 63 years of age this is exactly what i need to see what I am in for. Dude ! Please wash or sanitise your hands after handling cash from customers. Just saying ! Keep up the great videos.

Dude. When the second person just walked in, My anxiety went through the roof. 1. I'm not a people person and 2. I have ADHD so I need to finish task 1 before starting task 2. Thank you for letting me know I never need to be a barista. I'll stick with my mourning routine of pour over to my self. Keep up the great work.

Just my opinion but I recommend using different music so it doesn't feel like someone is watching a 5 min craft video. Always love the coffee shop vibes.
