I mean that map showed it all right there. The third party vote percentage went directly to Warnock, but a fraction of a percent of Walker's vote shifted as well. the third party voters would have voted for Warnock in a runoff before Walker, and they did. There really wasn't much of a voter shift to speak of. Still glad Walker didn't win, but I'm glad he actually conceded the election results. That's probably the smartest thing he could have done for his political career, whether he chooses to continue it or not, and I respect him for it.
It's significant because most 3rd party voters, (in this case the 2.1% who voted for the libertarian candidate in the main election) lean right and Georgia as a whole is very much a red state other than small majorities of Democrats in Atlanta and Savannah. The Republicans nominated one of the worst candidates we've seen in decades. Almost anyone else would have beaten Warnock.

No - it's Georgia. Especially in light of the growing suburban - rural split. This kind of tight race is to be expected. Once you get 200 miles outside of the Atlanta metropolitan area the state essentially mirrors a Mississippi or Alabama. Let's also not forget the super strong inflence of white evangelicals and Christian nationalism in this race. That's a tremendous voting block for Republicans. Just like in the November election white evangelical Christians came out for Walker in droves.

Some people are saying they don't understand how the race was so close. GOP won all '22 GA statewide races except Senator. Warnock deserves alot of credit.
Looking at the red and blue maps are so deceptive. We do not vote by the acre. In most cities there are several single acres of land with larger populations than half the rural counties in the sate.

If all the negative issues about Walker is true, then WHY would anyone vote for him?
