I have to say, my faith in our justice system is and has been at an all time low. I've been through my own legal problems during my addiction and I can tell you first hand, I wasn't shown ANY type of deference, I had a public defender every time. OK, when Eastman initially suggested that his plan would only lose 7-2 in the Supreme Court, what two votes did he expect to win? Was one of them Clarence Thomas, under whom Eastman once clerked? I think it would have to be home confinement, just as a matter of national security. Certainly could never be housed in gen pop. If it were up to me. He gets "room" confinement. We treat one of his properties as a prison. He gets visitors, phone calls, tv, whatever other prisoners get. No more, no less. And one room is converted into a cell. He gets a prison cot, no special treatment. It MUST be treated as a prison, not his home. But a former president being in prison poses a potential threat.

I think it's rather disturbing that IF the coup plot had been successful, we'd never be seeing any of this. I also think it's rather disturbing that it's taken THIS LONG to get to where we're at and there STILL no criminal indictment or conviction. Truth is, its gonna be a race between his never-too-soon demise and the judicial system. When the indictment(s) drop, he will hire armies of lawyers to delay and drag it out. What we need is comment writers that understand how much time these cases take to get correct. We don't need Law & Order viewers that think every crime is solved in an hour. It took well over 3 years to indict and prosecute all of Nixon's guys. That was about 157 people. The cases involved here involve thousands, maybe tens of thousands.
