Cassava leaves can be eaten but wash, soak and cook for long. I don't remember which African country do this look it up (India too eat the leaves) on the net. Cassava is the main carbohydrate of AFRICA AND CARIBBEAN THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PASSION AND SHOWING BLACK MEN THERE IS NO SHAME IN BEING A FARMER OR WOMEN BEING A FARMERS WIFE. SO WE RETURN TO WHAT OUR ANCESTORS LEFT US LAND. NEVER SELL THE LAND RENT OR LEASE ONLY MAY THE CREATOR BLESS YOU 🙏 AND YOUR FAMILY. KEEP SPREADING THE WORD AND EDUCATE OUR PEOPLE.

The NASE 14 variety sounds quite impressive. How do we get it in Kenya?
@nadinesmith4397
@nadinesmith4397 4 года назад
Great video. I'm curious however on where these varieties came from. If they are GMO then the profits will be great but the health implications later will be just as great. We need to protect local varieties even at lower yields. Anyone knows who controls these varieties?

Nice video, thanks for sharing. But I am not getting it well. What does he harvest twice or thrice? Because it seems like you sell something without uprooting the cassava and then when you uproot it, and then sell that thing again, what is this? Thank you for your answer.
@underthestars1354
@underthestars1354 2 года назад
Cassava stems are cut for sale as stem seed to other farmers to plant. Cutting these stems encourages more tubers growth too. Stems can be cut in year one and two. You can also harvest some cassava tubers by digging out a few for sale before you eventually uproot all for sale and clear the field. This can be done in Yr 3. So the cassava farm is a money maker continously for 3 yrs as he explains here.

You say cassava fermentation but did you use bitter cassava and the other is sweet cassava. Sweet cassava you cook bitter cassava need proper Preparation before eating. But bitter cassava is more expensive because of the Preparation involved. Cassava generally does not carry a great deal of nutrients that is.why you eat meat fish or dal for the protein.
