Nice video, finally a video about technical side of the segway. That intake too low is not good, specially if you will go in water. Do you like the segway so far? Tempting to sell my 07 grizzly 700 for a new segway , but very curious how the segway holds
Now that I have factory “bugs” out of it I love it! I also realize every brand out there has its things that are not good about it. I’m just glad the Segways are minor and an easy fix.
@@scotthyatt4751 this weekend i saw one in a showroom, it looks and sits good! did you do anything with the cheap handbrake clip? My old honda motorcycle from 85 has a even better solution then what theyve made at segway. And yes luckely you made things better on the segway👍 Thanks for your answer scott
Question, I have one of these machines, I’m thinking I was ripped off though, it’s a financial loan but, the friggin thing was a nightmare to get in and out of gear, so I didn’t use for awhile. My son took it out for a drive, he stalls out, we got it going again, than the belt blew apart. I was wondering if the belt had anything to do with the machine being a nightmare to get in and out of gear ?
Thank you for your videos...I am learning good things about maintaining and servicing Snarler. How often those clutches fail...or its only the belt that fails more...and if belt fails then clutches get damaged too ?
Hi how are ya! Ok clutches are a mechanical item. They could last 20 years, or break tomorrow. So far on Segway, the clutches have been pretty good. As for your second question, it would be pretty hard for clutches to be damaged by a failed belt. Not impossible, but very very rare.
Hello. Please tell me which belt part number fits the snarler? On the Internet I see only the original. but I know that there are belts better than the original ones.
Hi Scott, just a quick question - having driven my Snarler for an hour in the woods I realized my CVT cover (the one on the lefthand side above the footrest) is pretty warm. Not hot, you can touch for a moment with bare hand without getting burned but you can not keep you hand for long like that because of heat. Is that normal? I had had my CVT changed some time ago at the dealer's (Segway service call - there had been a factory problem with the previous CVT)
Ok if you had the recall done and the new belt box and cover put on, it will of course heat up with use, but shouldn’t get too hot. The new box also has a new clutch cover fan and significantly increases air flow through it. It exits inside of rear left wheel. Make sure you have high airflow! Put your hand over the outlet. Have someone else Rev it a bit unless you can reach outlet and throttle yourself. When you rev it ( 3500-4500 rpm ) you should definitely feel air flow out the belt box exhaust. If you do, it’s probably ok, if not it needs to be checked.
